Check a few hops before decide. I find price is not much different if you compare spec to spec and this warranty and few gift throw in eg bag, memory etc. I rather get it from local dealer, at least you inspect it on the spot before paying up.

Got a simple external dvd-rw drive from challenger this afternoon...

Went to check out the docks sold at Funan too. Some keep claiming that mini dock series 3 doesn't fit x220 except the ultrabase. I just gave them a smile, and walked out of the store.

If you do not need other devices on the dock, then this is the best as the DVD drive can also use for other PC.

Has anyone updated the BIOS to v1.21 and the new graphics drivers? Did it solve the throttling problem? It did, on my X220! And after installing the new graphics drivers, my windows index score went up too! (Not that it really matters! )

Was told it cannot be fix via BIOS as it is a hardware issue. Dont think you will notice it under normal use.

i updated the bios...but not the graphic driver...what is the score u got?

Graphics went from 5.6 to 5.9. US owners have gotten 6.1 but I think it could come from having a SSD, because the rest of the specs are the same.

It may not stay at same score all the time. Run a few time to confirm.

Yeah, I thought it was a fluke, until I ran it a few times... 5.9.

does ultranav have multitouch gestures feature( pinch zoom, teo-finger flick scroll, etc just like the trackpad in macbook)?

do all the thinkpad x series trackpad is manufactured by synaptics? the reason why i ask this because i saw a thread that tell me that synaptics has a driver that enable multitouch gestures on synaptics trackpad last year.

Yes u can do that, just that it is not as smooth as like the macs, unfortunately. U can play with the settings in the ultranav settings.

Price and warranty. Some design different, but certain model actually share the same hardware.

There is no more IBM thinkpad. IBM sold it to lenovo more than 5 years ago.

lenovo bought ibm pc/laptop division. now no more ibm thinkpad (only old one will be under ibm brand).

Correct me if I am wrong, IBM sold off their laptop division to Lenovo, so now all laptops are named Lenovo laptops. The laptops are divided into 2 categories:

1. Business: Thinkpads (Tougher construction, only comes in black, different warranty)
2. Consumers: Ideapads

didn't because it appears to be cheaper on amazon/ebay.

The mini dock series 3 is going for $269 @ Funan. And one shop was hard-selling me the ultrabase for $299 and insisting the mini dock series 3 does not fit the x220.

As my friend is at states for a business trip, I have gotten a mini dock plus series 3 and sent it to his hotel for him to help me bring back..
