Has to remove the whole assembly to do it. Otherwise if the oil get into circuit board, is hard to clean it.

Removed palm rest, keyboard and bezel to reach the fan area. Managed to spray some air and electronic contacts cleansing solution. Fan started spinning up again but then..... I broke the data ribbon for the trackpoint and screwed up some of the screws - one won't fit and I have one extra! Quite a learning. Hahaha

i just ordered x220 from lenovo
first time using comgateway....
hope everything will be fine...

You won't regret your choice. It's a great laptop. I haven't had a single problem with it after updating all the drivers and traveling aboard with it. It's just a "black slab" and is "unattractive" to thieves!

i was wondering if i should order the i7 instead that time ... the price difference is US$187
difference are:
~ i7-2720 vs i5-2520
~ Win 7 Pro vs Win 7 Home
~ USB 3.0 vs USB 2.0

well i was thinking the US$187 better use to get SSD instead ... but i prefer to have USB 3.0 actually (but i dont need the win 7 pro and i7 Processor lol..)

what do you guys think?

The eternal question! If u want USB3.0, just get a expresscard version. Not that expensive too.

Yup, then if u really want the USB3.0 built-in, it'll be the i7 then...

btw i got x61s... recently a friend pass me wwan card .. after installing the card, and put a sim card. it can detect mobile one (m1) under the thinkpad access connection. if i just double click on the MOBILE ONE. it will not connect. error detail is

btw i got x61s... recently a friend pass me wwan card .. after installing the card, and put a sim card. it can detect mobile one (m1) under the thinkpad access connection. if i just double click on the MOBILE ONE. it will not connect. error detail is

under the wwan program, change the APN to sunsurf...

Just normal water & a microfiber cloth. Easy maintenance!

Hi guys,

I was trying to make an order on Lenovo's (US) website and all I got was "Order request is in progress. Please wait for order confirmation email or try to resubmit the order". I did the resubmition again and I got the same message. I did not have any email for order confirmation too.

I am using my local Singapore credit card and I am shipping to a US address belonging to a friend of mine.

Any idea why is this happening?

I am quite worried they will charge my card twice.

Please help if you have encountered such problem. Thanks so much.

I waited like 15 minutes? They mentioned a short while and I assumed that to be 15 mins. I really hope they wont double charge me.
