anyone knows or had experience installing 8GB ram in thinkpad T61? is it possible?

I read about it here too - http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Unofficial_maximum_memory_specs but never got down to buying another dimm.

Would like to enquire if the Thinkpad Protection will apply in Singapore (I.E can bring to Chang Service Center) if the set was bought and warranty was extended in the US?

hi guys, i'm thinking of upgrading my T61 to a bigger hdd and install win7 as well. I have the orignal keycode for win7 for my desktop(think still got 1 more user left). Anyplace to do this for cheap?

Upgraded to 500GB & Win7 Pro (32bit) for 2 of my T61 and they are still working flawlessly.

Should I download Vista or XP drivers if the Windows 7 one is not available?

Suffered for 2yrs+ with Vista on my T61 before deciding to upgrade. Bought WD Scorpio Black (7,200rpm) 500GB HDD and installed Win 7 Pro (32bit) and the difference was great! Had 4GB RAM installed as well, since Win 7 Pro (32bit) does not recognize any more than 4GB.

As for drivers, I believe Win 7 has quite an intensive range so I believe you would not need Vista drivers.

Still worth? Now exchange rate is so high. US$499 is about S$649 and still have not include GST and transport.

If you read the help for power manager, it is not advisable to charge to 100% every time. Also, if you always charge 5-15% to reach full, your battery won't last as long.
