Those who bought the 128GB MyDigitalSSD mSATA SSD,

Any Reviews so far?

Been using it for about 2wks and its definitely day & night difference from my "slow" 7200rpm HDD. 40% space used only. Rest of the music/photos/videos are on my HDD.

Not much else to review!

You mean it shows "3-year limited warranty which includes a Thinkplus warranty upgrade. Blah blah blah... includes parts & labour and includes on-site repair service"?

If it is, I have "used" this warranty where the Lenovo technician came down and replaced parts for me, at no cost.

no it only shown "3-year limited warranty " and does not have" include a Thinkplus warranty upgrade" , anyway called the dealer and think pad services centre, i had submit the invoice to them, they told me to wait for 3 weeks :S.

I hope you get it sorted soonest! The on-site services are top-notch and it really takes the headache out of solving hardware issues.

No experience with other SSD. This is my first SSD on my notebook. You can definitely see the big difference compare with HDD.

This is my 1st mSATA SSD for my X220 but 2nd experience with a SSD. Fitted a 60GB 1.8" ZIP SSD into my wife's previous HP Mini and boy, did it fly! A netbook with a SSD and Win7 Ultimate.

Now that netbook has gone to netbook heaven, I am thinking of experimenting with fitting that 60GB 1.8" ZIP SSD into her Lenovo U260 and see how that goes!

Just a very NOOB question (regarding T520), and installing an additional MSata SSD for OS and some software.

I understand that 1st thing to do is to make a set of recovery disk.
(now the noob part) Use DVD- or DVD+ better?
Have never really used DVDs before.... CDs and thumbdrives in recent years.

After I follow the online instructions (from other forums) to take out the HDD, put in the SSD, recover from DVD, and then put back in the HDD.....
Can I just format the C:, and leave the recovery partition (is it J: ) on the HDD, (not the SSD)as it is?
I do not forsee that I will ever need to use that additional space

No difference on using DVD+/-. Actually, the 1st and 4th discs, u can use CDR as the data for those 2 are about 300MB each.

If you decide to use all CDR, also can... Just that you will have 17 CDRs! Hahaha!

As for the recovery partition, the R&R discs will recreate a recovery partition on your mSATA SSD. So basically, you can delete all HDD partitions so that it is 1 big HDD.

Not from Lenovo. There is one third party app. I used before. I need to hunt it and get back to you later.

You need it for connecting to IDE hard disk? Use those USB to IDE is easier to find.

I think this is still 2 pcs of 4GB. You probably need to get the 16GB Kit if it is available. That would give you the required 16GB.

I moved it to my HDD, instead of the mSATA SSD. And left it there. Anyway, the R&R discs will have all the drivers that are in SWTools.

Why shouldn't it?

If your 42" monitor accepts DVI, then u can get this:

If it is not commonly found here in Singapore, you can get this:

And then get a HDMI > DP converter. I took this route as I bought the DVI > HDMI cable from Harvey Norman long before I bought the X220. It was actually for my wife's Lenovo U260. So I went online and bought the HDMI > DP converter when I bought my X220.

I find that the 2nd option is better because I can use the combination on both U260 & X220.

For my TV that accepts HDMI, I just use the HDMI > DP converter.
