You are correct. It is just overprice in Singapore.
Warranty should be ok. But just note that most of the Thinkpads in US come with only a 1 year international warranty vs. 3 years if you buy in Singapore.any real catch or hidden issues?
for example any difficulty with international warranty with lenovo in singapore?
edit:
wanted to ask about cgw shopping but already found some earlier posts in this thread.

Yup, thinkpad on site warranty is superb, provided they got the parts in stock. Lenovo ideapad line service is another story altogether...My friend call before. Got ask for some simple diagnosis.
When they arrive, they will come with the affected parts and do a replacement for him on the spot. Hassle free.
For their carry in warranty, wait time is approx. 48 hours. But usually, they will fix it within a day.
IMO the T420 should be enough for your needsLenovo ThinkPad T420 for my interior design course. Do you all think it'll be more than enough?
Commonly used programs are; AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Photoshop and Illustrator.

IMO the T420 should be enough for your needs![]()
Haha I myself got the X220 at academic pricing, totally not regretting the purchase thus farThank you for your reply.
Why did you say so?
Maybe i should head down to the IT fair to check the price for T420 as well![]()
Must understand, HDD prices have went up since last year, thus the increment in prices.Haha I myself got the X220 at academic pricing, totally not regretting the purchase thus far
Well comparing the W520 to the T420, you do get 2 more cores to work with, and also a larger screen. But with that you have got an increased bulk to carry around in school (not fun, you'll probably get tired after the 2nd week, trust me), shorter battery life which means lesser working on-the-go time, and also the academic version packs a 1366x768 display which honestly looks horrible on a 15.6" screen.
And it seems like the prices has gone up by $120-130 compared to last year's roadshow which is almost the same specs other than the step increment of the processor across the entire range.
Last year's price: Welcome to OrderLenovo.com![]()
Non HD? I think it is HD Ready aka. 16:9 and 1366x768.The w520 is non hd
How?
