Sure, it would cost you an arm or a leg though. The panel would cost between $500 - 600. Then you'll have to replace it yourself because doing so would void the warranty and none of the technicians at the service center will do it.

Replacing the panel practically means you need to disassemble the entire ThinkPad, so you need to be careful not to break anything through out the process. Does anyone know where to get batteries for a z61t 9442? Yes it's very old but still working fine and I want to be able to bring it around without having to shut down every time. I asked one of the official distributors in Funan and they couldn't get a spare.

There are some shops on the 3 or 4 level in SimLim that retails some OEM laptop batteries, they seem to have wide range, maybe you can check it out. Alternatively you can always check out ebay...

Can I ask if the X220 comes with the WWAN antenna installed already?
I also understand that Lenovo has blacklisted some of the WWAN cards on the market, so does anyone has an idea what are the suitable whitelist WWAN cards available that is usable locally.

If you bought your TP locally then high chance that it wouldn't come with the antenna, but you can remove your keyboard to check (instructions here - http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/0a60739.pdf)

You will see an extra pair of cables (main, aux) if the wwan antenna is present. The page below lists the white-list models, the one you should get is the Ericsson F5521gw

Slightly OT. Just discovered that the Ideapad Y510p allows you to slot a 2nd nvidia GT755m via ultrabay with a total of 4GB vram via SLI! Why can't they do something like that for ThinkPads...

I usually stick to the default until some time when I felt that I should be re-formating it. I can live with the defaults for the time being.

Thanks - I should have known there are only OEM batts left. Anyway bought one via Alibaba, let's see if it works. The Sim Lim guys were asking for more than 2 times what I paid, with the same waiting time.

Since Lenovo US has virtually blocked 3rd party forwarders purchase from Singapore as i heard. This below link may be your next best alternative although I have no idea how much the T440s cost in USA now with this configuration.

How do you guys format the laptop?

1) Download all drivers 1st
2) Format
3) Reinstall -- Windows 7 using the original Win7 Installation CD (my recovery cd is unusable, and forgot to make a clean backup 2 years ago)
4) Load drivers 1 by 1?

Is there a shorter way to do it so that its clean (especially the download drivers part) -- without any unnecessary warez from Lenovo Thinkpad -- except for the battery management app.
