Any knows where can i buy a X230 in singapore? X240 seems like having alot of negative feedback.

What negative feedback for X240. I bought the touch version which was not sold in Singapore and love it very much because there is a proper docking station for lazy man like me.

You can try to check out the authorised/resellers at funan and SLS.

Alternatively, call the local Lenovo service centre and they may sell to you directly if stocks are available.

Lastly, check out ebay or amazon.

For me, i find the keys too small. And the palm rest like too big.
Trackpad really feels weird. USB ports from 3 become to 2.

Keyboard size comparison.

Looking for the X230 i7-3520M IPS Panel and put a SSD and 16GB RAM + Win 8.1 x64.

I do not like 3 thing for both x240 and t440.
- No hard disk activity LED
- Vary hard to get use to the new mouse pad design
- Cheap plastic compare to previous models.

True, Doesn't feel like a thinkpad anymore. More like a typical ultrabook.

i did call Lenovo, but their CSO actually replied that e appointed vendor classify these as NON-SELLABLE parts. :slant: wonder why?

ebay/amazon kinda not possible :(

Sorry, no more receipt. Only use it as spare battery for my T400 (still using).

Very good observation. When the palm side become too big. Is very easy to trigger the touch pad by accident.

Manage to find one last set X230(i7-3520M/8GB RAM/256GB SSD). Finally got it. So happy :D

Can anyone advice where can i replace the TN Panel with a HD IPS Panel? Is it worth the effort?

Hi,

Not sure if I should post here but here have lots of ThinkPad users at least.

I am looking for a ThinkPad X220T/X230T for collection and light usage.

If you have one to let go, please PM to discuss.
Thank you very much.

anyone have a t540p?

gian t540p due to the bigger screen, number pad, quad core cpu, but it seems thinkpad didnt get the memo on making things thinner for 540p

leaning towards the 440s

T540p has dedicated graphics, docking option, removable DVD drive option etc.. hence would be thicker.

T440s is just dual core

read that there was a huge outcry when lenovo change the keyboard to island style on x230.. but people got used to it eventually..

was given a x230 when i joined my current company, loving it since.. was looking at buying one for personal use, then the x240 came out..

tried my colleague x240.. really is cannot make it..
the plam rest is too long, making the keyboard/trackpoint very far..

using the trackpoint is a two hand affair now, the left button is too far for my right thumb to reach.. Even if i stretch unnaturally to reach it, i failed to register a click 8 out of 10 times..

removal of middle scroll button is another big failure.. the "integrated" middle button keeps on registering the wrong click..

overall the layout is unnatural from the keyboard to the trackpoint to the mousepad and palm rest..

Please stay away from the x240..
