CPU/GPU Copper Shim

Has anyone tried using copper shim on a ThinkPad? What is the ideal thickness I should buy?

After shipping it's even more expensive than local agents

Depending on your needs; the X230 can be configured with a maximum of 16GB RAM and 8GB max for the X240.

X230 is totally out, can still find some X230 tablet in the market which i don't like as the battery bulges out

I used the X240, actually it's pretty ok.

Those bad reviews are normally from ppl who used the old versions of thinkpads.

I belong to that group. really really really really really really hate the clickpad. wished they would just remove the touchpad completely, but from a company standpoint, I know it's going to bankrupt them since most pp dun use the trackpoint.

Convertor to convert from old type power plug to new type square plug.

Note there are 2 types:
Type 1: 7.9mm FEMALE

Type 2: 5.5mm MALE

Hi all, I have an working T60, recently the hard drive is really really slow till I cannot take it anymore. Do you all advise to change to a SSD or should I fork out cash to get another new thinkpad?

I suggest replace the hard drive with a SSD if the machine is serving you well. Alternatively, you may want to consider adding more RAMs to make it speedier too.

add something... 32bit-OS can only "see" 4GB ram, so sometimes adding more ram doesn't help.

although the laptop price is very cheap in US now, but shipping it over will kill u.

1) shipping cost (as it is quite heavy and bulky)
2) will kenna spore side de GST.

so drop the idea unless someone in states is bringing it back for u.

Which local retailers can give prices similar to US (after shipping + GST)?

ThinkPad X1 Carbon 2nd Generation is selling for $839.40 USD in Lenovo US online now. It is worth buying after shipping and GST? Does anyone know which forwarder can sent to Singapore? I read that some forwarder have agreement not to send Lenovo product to Singapore.

Hi everyone,

First time buying a laptop off amazon, hope to get your advice. I'm looking to buy a t430
(Amazon.com : Lenovo ThinkPad 2344BMU T430 14-Inch Notebook : Netbook Computers : Computers & Accessories)

What kind of warranty will this come with? How can I find out?
I want to upgrade to a SSD, does anyone have any to recommend? (Also, am I right to say I'll need a 7mm height SSD for this?)
