Now that's just dubious. Off-Ramp what, there are 5 versions of Off-Ramps out there. Which Off-Ramp output? SPDIF or I2S or BNC? Vanilla or modded?

Considering OR5 is one of the most widely respected USB converter out there, touted on the same level as mega-bucks transports in some review, and cost at least 5 times as much as this iLink in (without upgrades), I cannot help but regard this graph as total bull****.

Misleading marketing asides though, guess this is gonna be a pretty good product.

Separating power and data/audio to prevent crosstalk that causes harmonic distortion: in other terms to achieve a much cleaner signal, which will let you benefit more from the iUSB power =)

[Review] iFi Micro iCan Headphone Amplifier - Power to the People

On paper the iFi Micro iCan talks the talk. This is a Class A TubeState amplifier that also claims to cherry pick the best features from transistor amplifiers with its "tri-brid" circuitry. In addition it has bass and soundstage enhancement features to enhance a headphone's performance. Now let's see if this amplifier can walk the walk.

RATINGS
  • Design : 7.5
  • Performance : 8.5
  • Features : 9
  • Value : 9

THE GOOD
  • Great power and amplification
  • Excellent set of features
  • Very affordable

THE BAD
  • Unimpressive aesthetics
  • Unwieldy dimensions
  • Non mirrored flick switch settings

I am pretty sure the iCAN is a Class A solid state amp and not a vacuum tube amp. Also tubestate is a marketing term of iFi.
