Hi anyone here use ikea linnmon table as a computer desk ? Is it strong enough to put a mid tower computer case on it ? Ikea website says the top is finished using acrylic paint, does it scratch and wear off easily ? Anyone using this table can leave some comments on this ?

Not sure about the finish, but I can add that this is prone to warping/sagging over time cos this is their cheapest type of top (Hollow inside, with cardboard), also lacks a underframe.

What you can do is add a middle support leg (to support weight of a monitor), and place the chassis closer to the edge of the desk so that more of the weight is above the legs. Should last longer without sagging.

Example I found:

Doesnt it make sense to invest in a better desk to put your pc ? I mean i wont want to risk it on a lousy table that could collpase anytime.

Sent from Asus ME173X using GAGT

It won't collapse, just sag very slowly over years. I have the previous gen. Most ppl use it as throwaway furniture when they move into dorms/rental place. Use 3-4 years, when time to move, throw. Not long term, unless very light usage like laptop.

This style table top is not really wood. Air + cardboard :s13:

Omg cardboard inside. I was looking at Linnmon table coz its depth is 60cm and low cost. The rest of the tables have depth of more than 60cm which will be too big for my small room.

is it true that sitoca has exited the consumer business ?

You must have read my previous thread.
I called up for cad-cam series and they dont sell to end user.
However they have other series too. Please call them to check! Nice lady on the line, let her know specs and dimension you looking for and she will likely assist :)
