Compassion? Graciousness? You got brainwashed by CSJ preaching.

You should go Sunday service, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

Dunno which filthy sewage u climb out of. Compassion and graciousness are important parts of the society. They make up the thin fabric that is holding our fast-paced and self-centered world we call home. But I guess u will not understand as your umbilical cord is still stuck to the gutter that conceived you. Stick to the normal IBs phases.

To be rational, i watched the rally online with my colleagues, with a neutral mindset.

For the entire hour, there was no concrete plans on what the ruling party shall do for Singapore, 50 years from now.

All i heard was, Lee Kuan Yew, gutter politics by discrediting the opposition based on opinions rather than facts, impressions and not credibility backup by facts.

This is entirely disappointing. If they are indeed that credible, why are the people unhappy? Are we willing to sacrifice 4 more years again without knowing any of the plans laid out for us?

Given a choice if i would risk having more opposition in parliament than incumbent, vs having the entire parliament filled with yes-mans whom tells us "trust me" without revealing any plans, sorry, if i had not issued a blank cheque before, i will not issue it now.

please tel more of your friends and relatives of how you feel and your point of view to this matter......for those sitting on the fence type or pro-pap type....

thank you for saving sinkies future

1) work life balance
This is company level and personal level.
There is a mandated number of working hours per week already.
Please explain more and I'll see if I can offer opinion.

2) single parent issues
I don't know what issue.
If you mean children born out of wedlock, this is personal responsibility NOT to do so.
If you mean deceased/divorced partner, MSF is providing aid.

3) high cost of living in terms of inflation, your baby powder, your kopitiam food etc
Baby powder is expensive because of nonsense additives and expensive marketing.
There are cheaper alternatives.
Kopitiam/hawker food, the last I paid, still $3 for chicken rice.

4) the "non insurance" that kids will grow up and "support you"
The Maintenance of Parents Act

5) competition of kids in schools
Don't understand. Please explain.
If you mean in terms of results, you can tell your kid to play and don't send for tuition or enrichment courses if you want to kid to relax.
If you want every child in Singapore to be at the same pace, then the whole of Singapore will be at the same pace regardless extremely smart or usual intelligence.
You cannot tell 100M sprinters to slow down because you cannot catch up.. something like that.

:)

mandated amount of working hours? in banks you mean? or in areas where scholars are working only. what do you think are the working hours in banks? are they "mandated"? :s22:

do you know what is the difference in entitlements for married couples with kids vs single parent? i'm sure you would know from the book this one. are they the same?

point 3, really? cheaper alternatives for milk powder? :s22: will u use it? please, not everything is from the books. last time a canned drink cost $1 or $1.20 in the kopitiam, now a 100 plus cost $1.50 at least. dispute that? your chicken rice example is not a strong example, is chicken rice $3 in most hawker centres?

point 4, fair enough, but unfortunately straight out of book thats all. no elaboration on the practical difficulties of doing so.

point 5, from the way some peeps are caring for themselves only, just by getting a seat in a certain primary school would come down to the wire with sinkies aiming to kill each other. what for have a kid just to satisfy the govt's aim, and let them suffer in this world? is the current landscape and policies set aside suitable for kids to develop well in SG? do you have a kid?

this reply is OT, i apologise, and i will not reply any more :s22: not everything is based from books and stats when it comes to cost of living.

it doesn't take a genius to answer that qn. by replying my quote you have answered the qn without knowing it.

root of prob: families don't wanna have kids.
why?

high cost of living! thats the reason why. CSJ and WP plans are all on social spending address the root of the problem.

I have no idea why that is not mentioned at all?!?! wa biang ehhhhhhhh.

i know of many couples DINKs who don't ever want to have kids and money is never an issue for them. think its partly the progress of women being highly educated and some just do not wish to have kids when they are young and focus on their careers and by the time they want to have kids, they are too old :o

from your previous postings, you are not entirely neutral.

besides the budget, this year and NDP rally, already reveal many future plans and implements.

Also in the rally these 2 wks, already mentioned moving Paya lebar airbase to changi to free land for housing/parks. moving ports from tanjong pagar to jurong.

already implement pioneer gen package.

Opposition also never propose any plans either

My postings are based on what i know and the knowledge i obtained recently further enhance my decision making power, bit by bit, day by day.

noted the stuff set out in the SG budget in feb. a simple qn, do u know what exactly is cpf now and its full details of what it encompass?

the paya lebar airbase thing, i'm not sure if its part of the ura enhancement plan which was already planned for. if its not, ok point accepted. thank you!

Maybe having more ppl at the meeting will give the boss and yourself more perspectives to solve the same problem

there are already more people at the meeting. just can't allow any riff raff to slow everyone down else nothing will get done

when u put the word 'think' , it means you are unsure. dio bo?

but say we take the assumption u dio, ever wonder why they wanna "focus on career" and "not have kids" and then when want "too old liao"?

its the stressful landscape that we must succeed at all cost right?

to be rational, i disagree. the plan must be communicated first. follow up or not we cannot judge till the project is almost near to completion lei

the only thing i admire in the entire speech was LHL focused on the word "better" and "i pledge" "i promise" which no other credible opposition said so.

the only qualms i have is these are big words, not that i don't trust but there needs to be further emphasize on why. surely even as we are successful we have to justify our actions right, we are afterall human. i'm sure all of you would agree on that?

if you become a director, den u don't justify what u do meh? keep telling ceo don't worry sure better one, trust me, i will put my life and stake into it. no right.

not true, i got to say even when i am rich, i have no plans to have kids. nothing to do with money, i am sure i can provide amply. nothing to do with stress because so many have gone through the system and turned out well. so why must i be so special?

its a personal choice to have kids or not and this is the trend in many developed countries too. at this stage, i would think even if i have millions, i am not cut out to be a good parent so i respect those who are and have no complaints when people go on maternity and paternity leave and I don't get to enjoy that perk
