Epson or brother better in term of printing speed, no clog head issue and Cheap ink?

in terms of cheap ink, doesnt matter if.you buy third party. it will be about $3 per 100ml (1000 pages) and can be used for any brands. for print speed, more expensive ones are faster page per min ppm.

low end epson ink tank without scanner cost less than $150

I prefer Brother. But having said that, issues or not depends on individual usage patterns. If you use frequently, it may lower the chance of clogged nozzle. Also, it depends on the ink used. Some third party ones can sell you a barrel of it for cheap, but the quality is bad and will clot the nozzle.

epson has built in failure. after 10k pages, it will say waste ink pad full and ask you to buy new printer. but someone developed a printer resetter program for epson and it works.... so i recommend that. not sure about brother built in failure.

to prevent clogging, as long as you buy dye ink instead of pigment, you should be fine because it is water soluble. you can spill pigment ink on the floor, one year later use a wet tissue you can wipe the floor clean. so applying same concept to print head, you will be fine.

as long as you print all the colors at least once a month you should be fine.

Every week, I print this in A4 size on my Epson L355:

this one seem to waste too much ink on full A4 page.

.
In the first year or early second year, I print only one row per week to save ink & paper using Excel spreadsheet.

But as time passes, lines started to appear more frequently. That was the time I started full page weekly printing to ensure clog-free.

Irregular printing, most done by my son for his lecture notes.
