Installing New OBU Tomorrow

My current car was bought in 2016. It was a stock infotainment unit. Didn't have any android auto or carplay .

I dont know govt want to waste money to provide new OBU on the car that going to scarp anytime from year 2026 to 2027.

Then dun bother, unless your own time is not valuable.

U have to ask urself how much is ur time worth.

if its worthless, go ahead and waste 2hrs on it.

In the end . I installed the obu with display screen because I want to have control and flexibility to adjust the setting .

I set the sound setting to 1 level above lowest (which is totally mute) . So still can hear a soft 'beep" . This is important because I need to know whether the parking gantry is able to detect my ERP 2.0 when entering or exiting the car park.

Overall . The new obu , ERP 2.0 and the display screen are not as horrible as many claimed .

But In the year 2025. I expect most of the car owner should have at least a jump starter in a car. Just like the TPMS.
