I am in Malaysia now and clocking my Amaze card song song. Exchange rate is 3.1834 vs spot rate of 3.24 so its a 1.75% loss vs spot rate. I got 1% back as points, 8% rebate from credit card so it's simply the best thing for me. There is no better option for now, the other option is a 3.25% charge so I am not going to complain unless the exchange rate difference reach 3%.

always double charge me (sometimes cc machine error thus swipe 2 times , or preauth for 95 then i told them i pumping 97/100 ...)
need monitor for the refund which take few working days.

Yes of course.

I just pump petrol yesterday at shell, only got the RM200 charge, don't have the 2nd charge. Don't know how it work, first time using credit card to pump petrol in Malaysia.

What 2nd charge? U will receive refund accordingly if you didn’t pump $200. Make sure you have a copy of the receipt as evidence.

Shell diff. They hold your rm200 and only deduct actual n refund the rest after a few working day

petron cc machine tend to always have issue, thus sometimes they tap once but failed. Instarem side still charged. And bcos its in oversea currency. When the refund came in, always lose out abit.

MCC generally applies globally right? Thinking of using Amaze plus maybank combination for overseas dining. Too bad it does not have a travel category (air tickets, hotels) which is another regular expense item of mine.

utility mcc excluded on citibank cards. Nothing to do with Amaze

Ah, my bad. I didn’t know for citi reward needs online purchase.
Maybe I should get this citi rewards card also. I have been use amaze with citi premiermiles. All 1x miles only since all overseas purchase converted to local

If you want to confirm for yourself, ask the business centre to charge $1 to your card first, verify on the website, then pay the remainder on your next visit.
