can someone clarify conclusively for amaze card use overseas pls when travelling

amaze on their website say there is no markup on FX rates which is clear

but do they charge up to 1% of foreign transaction fee when using their card overseas ?? Some blogs seem to say they do but I can’t find it on their website

pls clarify. YouTrip and Wirex both don’t charge foreign transaction fee. I would be very happy to know if Amaze is exactly the same. ie. No FX rate markup + no foreign transaction fee when using the card overseas?

no foreign transaction fees. There is slight fx markup, similar to youtrip and any credit/debit card. Amaze giving 1% rebate and the card linked to Amaze still can earn card benefits e.g. 4mpd on dbs wwmc, citi rewards mc etc.

its objectively better to use amaze card linked to scb unlimited than directly with scb unlimited?

only use it when u need it. otherwise just don't bother. the points are not important

So this Amaze card is a good replacement for ICBC global mastercard for overseas spending? Now the only reason to keep ICBC global master card is for the free dragon points, I guess. Although 2 years gone by and never used the dragon points. Hopefully will get to use next year.

I use Wise for remittance, Instarem rates are not that good, so even if you decide to remit, you may end up not using Instarem.

Just for reference, my amaze card is linked to my DBS woman’s World card; I was confirmed by the DBS support team that the below Amaze expenses were not eligible to bonus points:
– Hotel booked on booking.com (while it is a genuine online expense)
– Restaurant in Europe (so it was not “converted” to an online expense).

So just 1mdp for the above…

no ah, I still get 4mpd on everything so long mcc not excluded using dbs wwmc.
