I got a refund via Amaze to a different card than it was originally charged to. I made it Amaze->UOB PRVI but it was refunded via Amaze to CRMC. All my prior refunds were to the originally linked card even when I'd changed which card was currently linked. Seems odd. Does this happen often? It was a cancelled air ticket and the description in Citibank says "REVERSAL:".

something to do with the manner of reversal. if the chargeback is a manual reversal (aka manual entry of card number to refund) instead of system, then basically the card issuer/terminal will issue a chargeback to the card number that is keyed in. and since CRMC was likely the 'linked' card at the moment the manual chargeback was entered and submitted, it will then pass thru the refund to CRMC.

I see another benefit of using Amaze card... by default, my Amaze card is linked to my MB F&F.
When using my MB F&F directly, the posting date is normally 3-5 days after my transaction date.
However, when I used my Amaze card instead, the the posting date is reduced to 1-2 days after my transaction date.
This is particularly useful during end of the month when I realized that I have some shortfalls to meet for the minimum spend in order to get the favorable discount rebates.
Anyone have made similar observation?

Yes. Amaze card usually post within 1-2 days. But it is also annoying that sometimes some transactions will never be posted but Amaze will post it. And it takes a long time for Amaze to refund...
Also, when I use Maybank FF, it usually takes 2-4 days to post only as well.. Well, I guess that depends on merchants.

Amaze posting date is always 1-2 days mostly. never seen 3 days b4.

Their rates seem to be less competitive than before..

Purchased stuff in Myr 3 days ago. Rate was 3.275 instead of 3.34. Though the instapoints and miles still worth it

Yes, the exchange rate is getting worse.

2.5% higher than Revolut or Youtrip wallet. £ rate is 1.63 today but Amaze charged me 1.66!

Used in indonesia - i forgot the amount / rate but i compared and it ended up a 2.5% spread for transaction there . Wont trust instarem much and will just switch to trust card for simpler low spread next time .

Been using amaze a lot in Perth. The rates are bad but still better than ordinary credit card and also can get insta point.
No doubt youtrip is better rate but no other perks at all.

1.44 instead of Google's rate of 1.40 suggests 2.85% mark-up. Can you check historical rate for your USD transaction date and confirm?

It has consistently been 1% for me every month for the 4 months of June through September across 5 countries. Haven't had any travel in October and have none planned for November. But lots of travel coming up in December and January, and had full-on plans to use Amaze. Now dreading it. But would like a confirmation from folks if the rates have really become so bad.

Ok, but interested in knowing whether Amaze's own exchange rate has actually worsened from the 1% mark-up it earlier was..

Pairing with different MCs requires a different calculation for determing what is optimum. Agree that for general spends, SCB Cash Unlimited is probably best.

My experience so for is the effective exchange rate with scb ** card is lower than spot rate

similar, very small difference as one use mastercard rate, other use visa rate based on 2 month ago baht experience.

But seems recent many experience bad rate for amaze.

Yes it got worse but still better than others when paired with cashback cards
