The moment you cannot hit 1K SGD spend for any of the month in the quarter, you already lost out.
Best card is subjective and in your case, if you can make it 1K SGD per month in that quarter, then it works for you.
Have to clarify, since Jan, all my CC bills are at least $1,800 because of living expenses and work transport (taxi).

In the above scenario it would work then it seems.

uob one card only give $50/$100/$200 quarterly rebate if spend $500//$1000/$2000 for each of all 3 statement months of a qualifying quarter. Spending more than the tiered amount only means less rebate percent. Even if spend nicely the tiered amount each month, with 3.25% fx fees, only get a measly 3.33%-3.25%= 0.08%.

Last time top tier is $300 rebate. Now $200 only. Lucky I'm not playing these type of games anymore.

my biggest issue with amaze is that I don't see any better fx rates going through amaze now. Not noticeably

Forgot to mention the statement months and qualifying quarter, but suppose my monthly overall CC spend is at least $800-$100, wouldn't that make it the best card for overseas spend?

Appreciate the clarification by the way! Can share what do you use for overseas spend as well?

It really depend on individual usage. I use Maybank F&F, 8% rebate pair with Amaze really no horse run. I cancel my UOB One because its not worth the effort. I just use Amaze for overseas spend, either for rebate, miles or the wallet for the best rate. 1 card that can do everything, no need to waste time with ICBC or trying to control spending with UOB One.

You are not using the wallet feature. Just go and check out the exchange rate now. Instarem is using the following rate
Sgd to myr 3.493
Sgd to usd 0.7326.

On XE now
Sgd to myr 3.493
Sgd to usd 0.7326.

Instarem is using spot rate if you choose to forgo the rewards. No credit card using Visa or MC rate can ever match this rate.

very specific MCC on the categories with a cap on each category right? I spend mostly on internet shopping and food. The internet category seems to be specific to online fashion only.

the same can be said for youtrip, revolut and wise right? we are talking about pairing with credit card to get the rebate.

Also I am not sure if my UOB one right will be worse than your amaze wallet rate after factoring in the 3.33% rebate.

Another reason I have become averse to amaze is the customer support. If anything goes wrong with a transaction using amaze and a bank credit card, both parties can push the blame to each other.

uob one of cos worse off. uob one get max 0.08% only vs Amaze wallet 1% instapoints. If dun like to use Amaze then can use icbc global mastercard or uob visa signature or uob ppv (for mobile contactless or selected online mcc) etc.

i don't quite understand. The cash rebate for UOB One is 3.33 vs ICBC global card at 3%. why is the latter better?

If not trying to get rewards using another credit card then just use the wallet function. Convert and see the rate before you spend. No need to worry about the rate.

UOB already slap on 3.25% fees on top of visa rate. Visa rate have a 0.3% or higher spread. Its almost confirmed you are paying at least 3.33% more using UOB One. Unless you are making up the spend for UOB One else confirm its a lousy deal.

Agree with this. Just made a purchase using my Instarem wallet, paid for something in USD.

USD to SGD = 1.3645

Instarem Wallet

If you want to get the rewards then need to pay the price right? Most banks charge 3.25-3.5%, amaze only charge around 1.8% more. I don't know why you complain about amaze but is ok paying all the banks higher fees, no bank charge a lower fee than amaze.
