B580 is the obvious choice as it performs better in most cases as it is actually closer to a 4060 Ti in performance and has 4GB more ram buffer for gaming at higher resolutions, i.e. 1440p max fidelity.

Strange that aftershock quotes same price for B580 versus 4060.
They are marking (scalping?) up the B580.....
There is a good US$50 price difference between the 2 cards.
I would take it as endorsement from Aftershock that the B580 is better than the 4060 and thus should not be priced lower :)

It's like Apple pricing. It's not what is the cost of producing it, but what is it worth to you, the customer buying it.

Also perhaps demand is more than supply, so they can charge more (make more profits) from the B580.

I read that intel 13/14 cpus are problematic, curious what made you choose intel over amd?

I need a Wifi6 mb and I favor thermals and energy efficiency over raw power. So this is the only build within my budget. The other Ryzen 5600 and 7600 builds are using AC mb.
i would have ponied up an extra $100 or so to get a 7600 + 7800xt build from invaderpc along with upgrade to 32gb ram, which has the asus tuf b650m-e wifi with wifi6.

And I still have to cough up another 100+ for additional ssd which I need. So it's not within my budget.

Since you already got it, just enjoy it. I do think Intel's Raptor Lake are not exactly power efficient. In theory, the efficient cores are supposed to make it power efficient, but in reality, they are used mainly to bump their multithread performance.

Thanks! 🙂 In any case, I watched various YouTube gaming tests on the Arc B580 and I noticed that it generally maintains good power usage and thermals. So I hope that the 14400F and B580 combo would run with less heat and energy for me 🙂

A decade back or so, I had this one experience of my CPU frying and emitting smoke! It was traumatizing indeed, ha. I remember I was using both an AMD and Radeon combo 😆 Since then, my top priorities were thermals and stability for any future cpus 😝

I’m curious about your choice of the Arc GPU and the 14400F. Intel CPUs aren’t exactly known for efficiency when you factor in their high power draw. Arc GPUs have improved a lot with driver updates, but they’re still relatively new and may not have the same polish or stability as NVIDIA or AMD.
