INTEL CPUs *OC Benchmark & Discussion*

Temps: CB23 30min loop, ss taken at 28mins

Coolant: 37C
Ambient: 25C
Dual 280 custom loop, fans at 1250rpm, CPU cooled by heatkiller IV pro w/ 1700 kit & backplate.

Variable OC
5.4 - 2 core load -1.45v
5.3 - 6 core load -1.38v
5.2 - 8 core load -1.3v

Tested for stability - OCCT for 1 hour, gaming for a full day.

Lower temps than the 1.38v 5.2 all core setting I had to use. I probably won't experience 100% utilization in my daily use, but good to know it won't even hit 90C. During gaming temps are between 55-65C, sometimes peaking at 70C. Gaming load at 1440p is 120-150w. Will use the following week to tune the ram, and hopefully the optimus sig v2 performs great too. Will then decide and then build my loop.

I settling my cpu oc slowly. Going to try for a good daily tbh now.

5.5ghz- 2 core load - 1.5v
5.3ghz - 4 core load - 1.4v
5.2ghz - 8 core load - 1.3v

Ram hopefully can get to stable 6400c34 at 1.42v or something.

It is hot that why i didn't OC and Undervolt everything to keep my temp at 70+ for both cpu and gpu for gaming.

70C gpu means your coolant over 50C eh. Becareful ah, the pumps are supposed to be used max 60C before **** might start to fail.

yeah man. i am trying not to have my coolant hit above 55-60.

So far hover around low 50s.

Now not many pple getting. The boards are still too expensive. Z690 boards too expensive. 12600K will be hot seller but the boards......board cost more than CPU....lol

Go amazon buy z690a Pro for sgd$300 and some good bdie ram. 4000c16 should be easily done for most people. Pretty much will beat most ddr5 out there.

Hi everyone, I need to get some helps for my 12900k setup.

MB: asus TUF z690 wifi d4
Cooler: Arctic liquid freezer II 360
Open chassis, fan at max speed.

idle temperature: 26-29c
Run ** R23: took about 3 mins to hit 100c thermal throttled....at 245W. after 10mins, CPU is running at 228w
Tried to under volte -0.5, same thing happen, still hit 100c after 4-5 mins, and CPU is running at 225w

So...My cooler can only manage 22x W of heat before 12900K get thermal throttled. I have check and try to reset the pump head. the contact looks okay....

Is this something wrong with Arctic liquid freezer II 360? or it is only capable to remove 220w of heat?

I might have an answer for my own question: though ASUS TUF wifi D4 support the 1200 cooler installation. however, new backplate is required for optimal 1700 installation due to lower CPU height.

I have dropped request to arctic...let's see after I have new back plate installed.

12th gen gurus. I need help. For the 8 + 4 pin cpu connector on the z690 motherboard, is the 4 pin optional? Not enough ports on my psu. It’s a seasonic focus gx750, and I used up 3 ports for pcie cos I’m using rtx3090. So left 1 port for cpu power nia. Using i7 12700k

Ok i connect only 8pin to CPU. Can boot up, update bios for gigabyte because F3 bios cannot detect NVME drive to install windows.

Managed to install windows. Have not overclock CPU to try if 8 pin power is sufficient.

cant detect m.2 is a known thing by multiple giga owners. lots of bad reviews

z690i strix seems to be pretty bad for mem oc. I should be getting around 55-57ns at these timings.

yeah this is on latest w11 with latest aida beta with latest 0803 beta bios.

Icic could because of beta version pending final fine tuning aside windows 11 which I think is quite stable. Is your system vbs enable?

i'm 5ns behind on others who are also on aida beta, but different mobo. Only difference really is the mobo, so i suspect that to be the culprint. Would probably switch to the unify z690i since that should have better memory OC.

VBS disabled since installation haha.

Oh even the msi mobo also on beta bios?

Sometime I test this aida the figures will change different and not consistent, not too sure if this 5ns could be due to other reason like room temperature or system cooling...

Nah once you've everything dialed down and stable with nothing else in background it'll at most move 1-2ns. My best latency is still like 5-7ns behind what is should be. A change in mobo should confirm it.

Sorry ya if I say something wrong and I am not good at memory tweaking, simply I just refuse to believe the 5ns worth of a change Mobo and what Asus can't do compare to MSI in high end Mobo category really glad you found the solution

At this early stage of testing do you think win 11 can better utilize ADL than win 10 ?
