ya lor, nothing is really free in the world

But still thanks for your SIC! :)

If going to face things like whitelist in crystal app, then might as well use those free blocker. The main thing is to block those ads that keep linking me to the App Store.

I just might have found a problem with purify. It seems to have been burning battery while using safari. Switching it off helped. I'm going to monitor over the next few days. If anyone experiences the same, do tell. Or post in the battery life thread.

Just tried purify, found it only blocks ads in safari, but other in app ads still showing.

What's the best blocker for ads in apps?

I'm using weblock (https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/weblock-adblock-for-apps-websites/id558818638?mt=8) which blocks all ads inside apps. Filtering takes place right on your device itself and the app DOES NOT act as a proxy server or VPN for your traffic. Works by re-directing traffic from ad networks to google's DNS servers instead of your device. Google's DNS servers return a NULL result, hence the ads do not show up at all.

Only drawback is that it only works when connected to wifi. But combine it with the new safari content blocker and you will not see any ads 90% of the time! :s12::s12:

Apple's strategy is to force sites to implement apps. This way, Apple get the ads and appstore revenue.

So far my 24 hrs usage of the battery includes a whopping 45% on safari. Even my games that I play are more battery efficient (a flight Sim called Infinite Flight runs cooler than safari with purify enabled).

But just to update. I deleted and reinstalled. Looks fine so far.
