crystal is cheaper so i went with it instead of purify.

btw crystal blocklist seems hard to load, had a hard time updating from 0 at the start.

currently at version 6 now, is that the latest version?

yes.
there were some misses when i used crystal.
switched to purify and it was fixed.

Okay wow. I'm impressed. Just updated my 5s and installed purify. It's really noticeably faster than previously. I had installed crystal for my mum's 6 plus previously, can't see much difference in loading time versus purify but I think I like purify better because they have more options to disabling stuff. Some days it's nice to disable images to save data.

All ad block app are likely to be on par in blocking ads eventually if developer is hardworking..

As for loading speed, totally agree that purify is very fast in performance.

The app must support the new Safari view controller (which basically replaces the basic webkit browser with Apple's own Safari browser), which lets you use ad-blockers, reader mode and icloud keychain.

I doubt Facebook and Twitter will ever support this, because that would give Apple too much power over what they can and cannot show in their own apps.

That said, found this today.

https://adblockplus.org/blog/peace-out-and-long-live-crystal

The developer of the Crystal app is reportedly receiving as much as $5600 a month to adopt Adblocker's whitelist (where companies can pay to have their ads not blocked). Seems quite dirty, but with that money, he can basically support his family and not have to work any more. :o

Guys, I found a new favourite. Since the Crystal dev has made a deal with the devil, I wanted to try another app.

Was hearing good things about Silentium(SGD$2.58) and decided to try it. And it is amazing. Very fast, whitelisting capabilities, even experimental cookie blocking capabilities. And according to their Twitter account, version 1.1 will be faster than Purify and also bring autoupdates. I think this will be my default content blocker app until such time that another app is drastically better or Silentium gets drastically worse.

P.S The devs of Silentium have said on Twitter they will never do what Crystal did.

here's a testing someone did for almost all the available content blockers for ios 9.

https://brooksreview.net/2015/09/content-blocker-test/

apparently, neither purify nor crystal are in the top 3 at the moment.

*Edit: in a later update, writer did say he would substitute ad block multi with purify anytime. so i guess that means purify is 2nd on the list?
