Just jailbreak my iphone 5. Everything work fine except...missing Cydia Substrate in cydia.Cant find it upon searching, thus I cant install any tweaks as they are mobilesubstrate dependent.
Anyone can advise? Thanks

Update : installed virtual home for iOS 9 works now


There is a thread on Reddit on how to install it


hi the instructions to install virtual home is removed.
I kept clicking recheck in cydia but it still says incompatible with my 9.02 device
any advise?

Went smoothly.
Cydia can run and can add repo.

But when I did a hard reboot. Hold power/home button till apple logo appears, iPhone will stuck at Apple logo.

No choice did a restorer to stock again.

Anyone has similar case?

Tried,but it didnt work.
I did from scratch again. Restored to non jb mode via iTunes. Run with pangu v1.0.1.however,once again it failed at 85-90% after i pressed pangu app on my iphonre. The 'start' greyed out.back to ready to br jailbreak mode,like the beginning.
Did as what iphonehacks recommended,connect itunes once,changed usb cable..but it didnt worked.
Give up,wait for bettter times lol

My ip5 was previously jbed under ios7xxx.Very stable and smooth

Imho. I have virtual home buttons in both my ipad air & mini,which were jbed under IOS7xxx.
Is useful but i thought from iphone 5 onwards,the physical home button was redesigned and rarely breakdown. Unlike my ip4(i dont have 4s)
In fact,currently I have disable vhome buttons in both mentioned devices..lol cos I have bad experiences when i did my Clash of Clan-war,by accident i pressed it..and the rest is history..just me

Okay jailbreaked, but where is Cydia ah?

first time I did this I did not get cydia, got in on 2nd try.

if its not appearing means not done right

i realized highest success rate is to do a back up of your phone first

then do a reset settings, then JB, activate cydia (off air plane mode) then restore the backup

that's what I did as cydia was force closing on me...

i encounter the same problem last night after jail break with pangu v1 on ip 6s+ 9.0.2. No choice got to do restore after stuck on apple logo for 15 mins. didn't install anything yet after jailbreak.

I think I had the same problem with the jailbreak as I stated before.

I backed up in iTunes after upgrading to IOS 9, factory resetted ( restore iPhone) in iTunes, then JB, then restored from backup . everything is ok now.


iTunes is confusing for some who never used iTunes functions

restore iPhone means factory reset . iTunes will download the latest IOs to restore yr device and of course all personal files in yr phone is gone

restore from backup means restoring from last back up ( this only restores photos, messages, and apps , it does not restore eg IOS 8.3 if the version is no longer signed by apple any more unless u are downgrading from Beta IOS. This option mostly is for beta testers.
