Just a question, do most of you get cellular version or just wifi?

Wifi only for me as I find no point paying for another subscription since I connect to my wifi at home and use personal hotspot from my iPhone on the go.

Is the personal hotspot connection inferior? Or quite reliable?

Generally quite reliable in my experience, only troublesome thing is needing to toggle hotspot on and off. I ended up defaulting to my iPhone instead of my iPad mini because of that.

I see... in this case think I will get the 128 gb cellular version to complement my surface pro 4.

Nope, it's reliable and pretty snappy. I connect it using BT and rarely get cut offs.

Hmm. Dilemma now... I am using Samsung phone and sometimes I don't get signal on my phone but I get signal on my ipad. The apple receiver is better. If I tether from.my Samsung phone the connection may not be great

Well ultimately the choice is yours and if you don't mind paying for another subscription, then get the cellular model, else just tether but of course will drain data from your mobile phone if you use it too much.

I only tether occasionally so my 5GB on my phone's data plan is sufficient.

29.90 per mth for 5gb per mth @ $609 and $138 for AppleCare. I bought it online with credit card 6% rebate.

Wa I see... I rmb years ago I was paying 30 per month for unlimited data until they changed the mobile broadband policy to have data caps. ..

The mini 4 is excellent and coming from mini 1 and 2, the 4's screen is the best out there.
