Nope, Stage Manager is a new feature in iPadOS 16 for M1 iPads and above. Anything using the A series chips are not supported.
M1 chip is no longer required, but u won't be able to use Stage Manager with an external display.

if already own the M1 Pro, I dun see the need to upgrade. Just need ipados 16.x to support stage mgr on the external display.

tbh the 2018 model is still a very capable device, even the latest android tablet oso can't beat the performance and smoothness haha
2018 and 2020 not much difference only 1 additional core processor and camera

they included the older gen ipad pros in the beta version. Apple got bombarded inside out for several months so they are left with no choice but to give in lol.

I've been trying Stage Manager on my 2018 iPad Pro and the performance is smooth. Glad that Apple gave in and included it for the non M1 iPad Pros.

Without external display for Stage Manager, it's not much different from the dock that's already available. It's just different ways of doing the same thing.

Lol! My mum gen 1 iPad Pro 12.9 can stage manager or not?
