But it’s e psychological mindset that may be difficult, holding a phone which you may not truly like just to save a couple of hundreds.

That only you’ll know deep down if it’s fine.

For a lot of people, it will be fine i guess. But there are some people who came from using an oled screen or HD screen, like from a samsung phone or iphone x so it's pretty obvious the screen is a downgrade. If you watch youtube or netflix everyday and you expect a high quality video from it...too bad the max resolution is 720p. Plus, the bezels on iphone 11/XR are thicker compared to the pro models, maybe it might turn off some people too who are used to using thin bezels from other phones.

I think apple is making a smart yet undesirable decision of separating the displays distinctly so people would force to buy the pro models if they really want a good screen.

This is so on point. It doesn't matter that the iPhone 11 has the "best LCD screen". No one is comparing the iPhone 11 to other LCD screens.

X to 11 means getting an upgrade of:

Battery life
Dolby Atmos and Digital+
A13 chip
Camera

Is the display really so overwhelming that you are discounting all these features above to conclude that it's not worthy to be deemed as an upgrade..?

I have iPhone X, XS and XR. Was using the Xs, but could not take the short battery life so moved to compromise the camera and slightly bigger size and moved XR, where the battery life was sufficient. Also the HK version of X and Xs don’t support dual physical SIM where the XR did;

So now that the iPhone 11 Pro have better than XR battery life, and now iPhone 11 Pro HK version also support dual physical SIM. So I don’t have to compromise.

I do a lot of video and photos, so I want the best camera setup. Telephoto very good for portraits.

Apple is smarter this year to put a ‘pro’ tag on their TOP end iPhones. Same as what they did for macbook or mac or ipad.

The iphone 11 is for everyone. This is for sure. And Apple is expected to make the most sales from this phone no doubts.

Pro is really for those who want the best of the best and really have no budget constraint.

iPhone 11 is good for everyone but iPhone 11 Pro/Pro Max is just simply not for everyone.

Apple is smart in positioning their iPhones this year. they dun put a special label like ‘R’ to the cheaper model of iPhones so this year those who are going for 11 won’t feel inferior in anyway to the pro/pro max give that the iphone 11 is jam packed with almost all the things that pro/pro max can do. Instead, people will now know that if they want a pro level device, they just simply need to pay more to go for pro/pro max. This also indirectly stops iphone 11 users from comparing the thing they missed from pro/pro max model including the display.

Oh.. I thought my XS is having issue with the battery life.

Mine also battery very fast finish when gaming on phone. Battery % is at 96%.

Glad that they bump the 11 Pro to 5 hours more

I’m sorry but people compare Apple’s LCD to 1080p OLED in blind test and the LCD still come out on top. There are videos in YouTube and reviews you can watch and read about it.

There is simply no reason to hate on the LCD in iPhone 11 and you won’t even lose out on anything if you were to get the iPhone 11. You get what you pay for.

Else, please feel free to get a cheaper OLED phone from the android manufacturer. By all means since the LCD in iPhone 11 is so poor and backdated.

Tomorrow you’ll see the reviews on iPhone 11 and they will read about how good the LCD is.

Apple is smart but that’s because they screw up in the marketing in last year iPhone. So this year they took the chance to remedy. iPhone XR all along is the default iPhone but Apple screwed up with the naming.

Then again, XR is still the best selling smartphone since launch. You guys can keep harping on the poor LCD and also compare to the cheaper OLED like those found in Samsung A series.

I'm sorry, but I'm not "people" and neither am I a "reviewer" (who, incidentally, may well be paid). I can certainly tell a difference between the screen on an XR and that on the XS. I know you can't.

Also, did you just presume that people here having been comparing the iPhone 11 to Android phones? Much insecurity perhaps?

Not everyone here works at Apple (lol) or have an interests in Apple shares. We're just consumers, discerning consumers. I don't really care how well the XR sold or how well the iPhone 11 will sell. In fact, I couldn't care less. But you cant. Cause how well Apple does as a business obviously impacts you more than it does on a consumer.

In term of LCD display, Apple is king and ahead of all others. And partly is because no one is using LCD anymore in the market beside apple and lower end spec phones. Apple is moving to all oled next yr too. One can harp how great apple LCD can be, end of the day, apple is ditching them next year too.

Yes .. combination of bigger battery, more efficient processor and screen got it to better than XR battery life .. well done Apple .. I like the smaller form factor of the X and Xs but the battery life was really killing me, often can’t last till end of the day .. especially after a few video shots and editing.
