Thanks! In general id consider myself quite a light user - usually just web browsing, taobao, little bit of social media. I neither game nor watch much videos, so just for some perspective im using an XR now and i enjoy about 7-8hrs SOT daily even though its 90% battery health. Im thinking should i get 12 or mini, 12 has better battery but the XR is more than enough for me. If mini can match XR, im good to go!

Appreciate advice from you guys especially those who transited from XR to mini!

Sorry trying to understand your question better, you mean if i dont game or video i should be getting more than 7-8hrs?

My maximum screen on time over the past 10 days was 8hrs 20mins. Safari usually takes up the bulk of my SOT about 40%? The remainder are split amongst shopping apps i.e. Taobao, Lazada recently because of 11.11 sales etc

I do not consume media such as spotify etc so my screen off battery usage is non existent. My main confusion stems from the XR being labelled as a battery beast while the 12 mini is labelled as battery starved yet in most battery tests, the 12 mini outperforms the XR.

14.3 beta. we are all early adopters. plus 14.2 is also like beta full of bugs.. might as well just jump on beta wagon.

Very weird leh, you close and dismiss app already but its still having high cpu usage

Only a few other reasons for pro, if not the 12 mini is more than capable
1. 2x Zoom lens
2. Lidar for quicker focusing, esp at night
3. ProRaw, if you want the best image quality
4. 6gb ram, apps stay longer without reloading

Why not? The processor is more than capable. Just get a powerbank for times you need the battery
