Personally think there's no difference. If it's about the odd-colour, iPhone 11 has green, while now iPhone 12 has blue. And then there's this purple colour that was released recently...

Did it look white to you when you received it from the store? Or they gave you the wrong box? Check against your invoice, I think the color should be indicated there as well?
