So you feel perfectly ok to hand over more money to Apple just like that?

It is perfectly ok defending a phone you like but defending profiteering just doesn't sound right from any angle.
It's the same question u asking urself whether to hand over your money to samsux for its inferior spec phone lo.

Sales tax + additional padding to protect themselves from fx fluctuations. They are after all, a US company that counts profit in USD.

Btw, your Note 20 Ultra 5G (256gb) can be bought brand new for just ~S$1350 from outside retailers right now, just 2 months after launch.
Its a well known fact that Samsung always give out freebies to entice buyer so as to gain more market shares, and then their phone price drop like just within a month or so.

It's a hard fact that apple device retain value as compare to Samsung and apple never ever give free stuff (except for back to school promo).

I am a Samsung user since S2 era, if anyone feel I am bias to Apple.

Once Samsung bring in snapdragon phones at affordable pricing then more people will be getting/staying with Samsung, like the current S20FE.

Yes, have been a hardcore Samsung user for 10 years. Exynos totally lost me. The S20FE with Snapdragon have always been a tradition. The predecessor's S10 Lite was also running Snapdragon. The fact remains that the flagship S and Note lineup will continue to use Exynos processors for the vast majority of the global market for many years to come. I would pay a premium for the world's 1st 5nm chip that is highly optimised.

I don’t get why they use Exynos processor on their flagship but SD chipset on their lower end model. Something must be wrong somewhere.

Ip 12 mini or change my ip X batt..hmmm

Why Mini? iPhone X screen is 5.8 inch and usually you want to go bugger.

But if you want small screen, just go for the iPhone 12 Mini. If not, the nature migration path is iPhone 12 or 12 Pro depending on your preference and budget.

Then you can always change the battery for the iPhone X and use it as a backup phone.

I am still deciding on whether to buy iPhone 12 256GB or 12 Pro 256GB for my wife. She has used iPhone X (256GB) for about three years but the battery life is still healthy as she is also using the previous 7+ (256GB) at the same time. She is not a pro user so I guess iPhone 12 is enough.

Their current flagship comes with both exynos and snapdragon but they only choose to launch exynos version here. Only the Z line are using snapdragon only. And like what iceuniverse have stated many times, going forward, Z line will be samsung main flagship.

Just get her the pro.

If you're getting the max, you're also not a max user but still fork out the moolah "just in case".

So she should not be inferior to you. A pro will also future proof since she use a single phone for soooooooooo long

I agree. Knowing Sammy, next year they will remove liao. Same for pixel 6....

Next time remove box and give you plastic bag niah for iP13.... :s13:

I give Google and Samsung 2 years, they will follow Apple for sure! Other OEMs will start to think, okay since Apple which sell million of iPhones in terms of volume can do away chargers and inbox earphones and people still buy and sales is even so good during COVID-19, let’s do it as well.

Smaller box can packed more retail box into container for shipping, save money.

If you are paying full amount for the phone, there is very little reason to get pro. Especially this time 12 is also using oled screen

No max as she does not like too big phones.

Haha, I use much cheaper mid tier Android now, Huawei P20 and Huawei Nova 5T. Prior to the P20 I used iPhone 6S 128GB as main phone for three years and I still keep the 6S as a backup after changing the battery early 2019.

She was scheduled to upgrade to iPhone 11 last December but I was thinking that 5G iPhone 12 was worth waiting for, so she used the iPhone X one more year.

I will not buy any top end Android phones myself as the differentiating factors (better camera or faster CPU) are not so important to me.

I agreed with this. 12 and 12pro diffs are not very obvious and pricing are $280 apart. Unlike 11pro and 11, most or all of 12pro feature are also available in 12. If the link are true, then both 12 and 12pro have the same amount of mAh battery too.

Yes I know but their Z series don’t sell as much as their S and Note series which is made the decision even more baffling.

From this trend, you can tell they are slowly phasing out the SD chipsets and go all out on Exynos with AMD GPU.

Exynos with AMD does look promising as mentioned by iceuniverse. Finally on par or better than SD maybe.
