new batteries don't reach their peak until a few uses. just use as normal and after a week or so then see.

I noticed my bluetooth was enabled out of the box.
Do switch it off if not using.

Also play around with the optimal brightness setting vs power consumption balance.

Apple says for Internet browsing on 3G is up to 8 hours. Meaning 480 minutes. So basically, for every 1% drop in battery, it should take us 5 mins. Mine isn't 5 minutes it seemed? Mine averages at 3 mins. That's 60% of what they claimed!
Anyone too?

Yeahh I listen music and surf the net at the same time, each 1% takes only 2-3 minutes to be used up. :((

TS: Don't worry about the battery. Just use the iPhone and charge when you have access to a power source. I've been doing this since 3GS. Since battery is a concern to you now, I take it you are not bothered by iOS6 Maps then? :D

Then, you better stick to the battery issue first. :D Anyway, I used to be very concerned about battery life too. Then, I decided not to be a slave to the battery. Furthermore, there are so many factors that can affect battery performance/life.

Battery Life of iPhone5

Hello people! How has the battery life of the iphone 5 been for you guys?? Personally, I feel that it is draining relatively fast even with very light usage, and closing all the apps running in the background.

Try switching off push mail, it stopped draining for me. Hope it works for you as well :)

I will post results tomorrow, today first day I have been intensively testing out turn-by-turn nav, browsing, benchmarking, installing apps... almost 0 leow :s13:

Yes but don't use push mail, this is generally true not just for the iPhone...
Turn of LTE if you really don't need it (anyway the coverage in Singapore is limited), once again true for any phone in general

Yes LTE really drains the battery but I'm really enjoying it, especially since 3G have been really crappy these days. :X

My iPhone 5 is having severe battery drain. During standby of 10 minutes, it has lost 4%.

Did I get a faulty set?

Expected. A negligible increase in capacity expected to power a 4" lcd already is taxing enough, with lte on battery can go flat within 3/4 day.

Nope.. Most probably your phone has apps running constantly in the background hooking on to LTE..
