Yeah e apps running in e background does deplete e battery too
And turn off those notifications you don't need
That helps too

i noticed mail is buggy, sometimes when u open up mail and closes via background it still lingers in the system and eats ur battery life. only when jailbroken u can force it to shutdown via backgrounder. unfortunately ip5 cannot jailbreak yet.

Anyway after using my original ip5 and my replacement set, i conclude that battery issues with Ip5 majority should not be hardware issue, i think its a OS issue, especially when mobile data is turned on, somehow that really sucks the battery dry quickly.

While on a trip overseas over the weekend, i shut off mobile date to prevent data roaming charges, my battery was still at 60++% at night even though i was using the phone as a camera, ebook reader and music player through out the day.

Am hoping that a OS update will fix this issue? Otherwise i might say good bye to my ip5

Same experience.. Got the same amount of battery left although taking photos playing games and stuff

agree with this. sometimes for no reason my mail fetches new data. This happens even after i set mail fetching to manual and all push mails are TURNED OFF!

Me too! But I know this only occurs if we launch a stock app (ie, phone, contacts, or messages, apps in built by apple). No idea why.

Yeah! It can either be a bug on the OS, or bad signal by our telcos (yes poor reception causes battery drain).

Or sometimes I realized having whatsapp running in the background drains battery too. Whatsapp need to push an update fast! :(

same experience here.
Also, i noticed the App Store would auto-notify about new app updates on its icon even when the app is not launched?!

I've been searching for any option to switch that noitification off, but there's no such option for the App Store app?!

Haha the app store's push notification has always been there and we're not able to switch them off. Don't think apple gave us that option too. But then again, that shouldn't drain too much battery. :)

We have to wait for a replacement phone from Starhub? Thought by going down they will offer you the replacement on the spot?

Just a slight reminder on replacement sets.

If you need a replacement set due to an unbearable fault..by all means replace it.

if its minor fault..better not to.. the next replacement set could be even worst / bring new set of problems.

Arent replacement sets as good as new ?
Other than the battery, the rest could be identified on the spot

it's psychological. on the second try, you expect it to be even more perfect. the more you look, the more issues you find. i know this phone will be gone in two years at most, so unless it's a glaring issue like a big yellow stain on the screen or non-working network connectivity, i just take it in and move on. of course, on the first inspection offered during collection, check that everything looks as it should.

Anyone managed to get a replacement from Singtel? What are the procedures like?

My iPhone battery life is bad, normal usage is only 5 hours plus the bedt, most of the times only getting 3 to 4 hours.

Already did restore new, reset settings, turn off push, let, brightness 30%

That's bad... is that normal or just in your case?

One thing I noticed, don't know if anyone have had the same experience.

Like many I was happy with battery life. That is until one day I was stranded in a place where presumably the base-stations were overloaded, and I couldn't load anything from the internet. Reception was poor as well. Reassuring myself it's just Singtel's ****ty network, I kept trying to forcefully load my webpages. Results? Battery drained like mad.

I am guessing reception and how hard your phone is working to retrieve the data matters.

definitely. had situations with 4/5 bars, but nothing was loading and the batt drained. once in another area, things went back to normal.
