Can just keep it on and use the picture you prefer. The processing speed of HDR on the 5s is so ridiculously fast there is almost no downside in leaving it on.

Only downside is maybe your photo album will cluttered with duplicate photos but iOS 7 makes sorting out photos alot easier than in previous versions so I just leave HDR on.

Share a shot here. HDR was on.

I feel it is not as vibrant. Like a bit dull to me.

Any advise on more vibrant shots?

Or this quality is what i should expect?

U mean, when HDR on, there will be 2 copies, 1 HDR on 1 original?

Pictures from staycation at W Hotel at Sentosa Cove over the weekends! All photos are taken with iPhone 5s and are not edited in any ways.

That is if you enable the "Keep normal photo" in the camera setting.

My was off by default.

This is what you should expect. If it looks the same on camera as with the naked eye, its correct.
Apple doesn't make cameras with super saturated colours to bluff people.

for my case, both without hdr on, but the one taken in Photo mode is much more saturated than the Square mode

I did a few more samples. Using Camera+, the photo come out normal, not saturated. I made a call to Apple, was advised to do a hard reset, which I have done. The samles are taken after hard reset. If not, do a reload and restore from backup, which I am going to do tonight.

Can you clarify what do you want me to test again? After reviewing your photo titles, I don't really get what you are testing. What photo mode? And where to get HDR in Camera+?

No in Camera+, but using default Camera app. You will see there are a few modes, like Slo-Mo, Pano. There is one "Photo", and there is one "Square".

In both modes, HDR can be turned ON and OFF.
