Even you spend $100++ on apple care doesn't guarantee Apple doesn't charge you the same amount ($400+) for screen replacement as accidental damage to screen is not cover under apple care.

It does, there's no more AppleCare, only AppleCare+.
AppleCare+ costs $138 and covers accidental damage up to 2 times.

Think got AppleCare still. I bought mine just before my iPhone 5 turned a year old bout few months back.

1st year limited warranty does not cover accidental damage.

haha, its okay, now no Lifeproof casing, i won't bring out to sea or anywhere near water anymore. but quite surprised by Singtel. i only called to ask whetehr they allow me to go their retail shop buy a replacement at RRP and they straight away tell me why not i pay $450 to get a replacement phone delivered to me. haha.

Last time my iPhone 5 out of warranty. But camera got black stain when taking picture.

Die die want me to pay for replacement. Cause no repair locally.

Thats the disadvantages of buying iphone and ipad.

Since you bought Apple care + I suggest you wait till the end of the first year of the apple care + then go send in for repair. Unless you want to sell it fast then send it in for repair pay 108 and then sell it off lor

I seriously will encourage people to purchase it. i dropped my phone from a height of about 5cm on to the floor face flat, and my screen is cracked. The lessons i learned is that i could have bought a better iphone cover that protects my phone's front n back screen (i only got a back cover), and then get the apple care plus asap!

Hi, did you drop your phone before you bought apple care plus? Then apple let you claim under the apple care plus coverage ah? Im damn worried now because i dropped mine. And i read their apple care policy, they say only repair operational and mechanical damages due to accidents. Cause only my screen cracked, its still functioning properly. I was thinking if i can get apple care now and claim under it. My phone is only 2 weeks old.

dropped my 6+ on the corner last night after gym, arms damn sore and phone so big.. now got small dent on the side.
1 more drop and i will use the phone naked.

Saw two cases of cracked screen.

One was a gold 6+ at ALab, owner brought it in citing software instability and hardware got problems requesting change. CSO explained warranty voided due to screen crack but he kept insisting that the phone itself is problematic, nothing to do with the screen.

Sounds more like trying to worm out a free replacement citing other issues than facing the fact he self-damaged the screen.


Saw another lady using gold 6 naked, screen cracked from left bottom up... I can feel the pain, but she still happily using it.

last 2 year my ip5 kenna scratch 1 cm at the right middle side 2 weeks after use, feel so pain until one day i decide to strip it naked and use.
down the road drop twice on the corner and back, feel nothing.. hahaha
then sold off at 300$ once i got ip6+

Haha.. Agreed bcos all my iPhone in past naked too n 6+ only with very slim n cheap bumper.. *maybe I m stupid though it will protect bendgate.. Lol

Yup, I can confirm this is the cheapest way at the moment as screen replacement currently even from third party will cost you at lest 400-500.

I just dropped mine last week, able to call on Monday to buy ApplCare Plus, yesterday i managed to get it switched out for a replacement set.

So yes, it does cover screen and accidental damage. Just sharing.
