iPhone 6 plus cracked screen : help!

I don't have the TG screen protector that time leh.. Only have the plastic one..

Yah I guess it depends on how the phone drop.. Coz my gf her phone drop several times already but never crack.

I dropped my phone with screen tempered glass protector, screen still crack.

my iphone 6s+ screen cracked and sent it to Apple service center for repair. I paid $270 for screen replacement and upon phone collection, the service center told me my screen cannot be replaced and apple replace me with a new phone which cost $650 and I need to top up the difference for the new phone and I can't withdrawal the service request as an order had been created.

oh crap. which service center did you go to? A.Lab @ PS? QCD @ Wheelock?

how bad was your crack that rendered it unrepairable? i also dropped and cracked my screen with a TG glass protector on. US$7.99 TG screen protector intact. S$1558 iPhone screen broken.

have not gone to Apple Service Center, but $270 quote is very cheap for a 6s Plus screen. Atomware quoted $390. cheapest among the quotes i've gotten, including iphix and iphonefix asia.

I think for those with earlier iPhones models no harm to repair broken screens at 3rd party shops but for those having 6s & 6s+ it's risky because 3rd party shops may not have the skills & parts to repair the screens with 3D Touch.

Phone is more than 60 days without Applecare. And I dun think we can buy Apple care now right?

Better bring it down to Apple otherwise you risk the dreaded error 53 & bricking the phone in the next iOS update.

call them, they will ask you to do a diagnostic test. Sure pass one, then bring down to apple fix@ a cost

If its underwaranty, best to bring back to apple. If you go 3rd party repair and within 1 year warranty period you need to claim hardware failure on the phone, your warranty will be void and you can only repair your phone outside. Apple has a way to know if you phone has been open by 3rd party so better careful.

I went Alab for repair, I was on a $39.90 premium tempered glass screen protector. My screen still cracked but not as serious as yours. I gotten a new phone at at cost of $650 as they deem beyond repair. I was ask to sign a letter of acknowledgement on the cost and once the case is created, there is no way to back out the repair. Either pay $270 (if can replace screen) or $650 (new phone replacement) and no option as back out.

Yup, covers both cable & charger.

When my original cable got spoilt within 6 mths, I called up Apple - they sent me the replacement cable & I returned the spoilt cable in the DHL envelope which they sent with the replacement cable.

You go to QCD or A.Labs they may reject you.

Since Apple has released the latest iOS 9.2.1 update that solves the error 53 issue, I guess it's safe to repair at 3rd party shops if you don't want to pay an arm & a leg which QCD/A.Alab will charge you.

I just bought my iPhone 6s Plus 2 days ago, earlier it slipped my hand and drop down.. top right hand side it crack and dented alittle wif Color peel-off. What shld I do? I didn't wanna spend so much to repair on th phone as I'm Travelling soon and I didn't want it to happen. i tot of not repairing it but whenever I wanna talk on the phone it kind of cut my ear.. Please help!!

TBH i dont recommend repairing yr phone cracked screen at 3rd party shops. I did mine (iphone6+) and although its much cheaper than service ctr, it came with a price. The swipe is not as sensitive as the original and sometimes apps will start launching by itself. I attribute this likely to the difference in screen dimension (basically the thickness) between the 3rd party shop's vs the originals. Was a pain to use...end up I got myself a new 6s+ although I still like my 6+.

Lesson learnt.

I would suggest pay alittle bit more if u intend to keep the phone.
