N means replacement devices, which are most likely refurbished (either used or failed QC when first manufactured)

F are for devices that are sold as refurbished (i.e. Refurbished iPad, iPod, etc)

As such, we will never see an iPhone with the Model starting with F as they don't sell them refurbished.
means...you guys are swapping your brand new set for a reworked set?

Erm, not all of us are exchanging our phones. It doesn't matter if the replacement phone is refurbished or anything, most important thing is that it works without any problem

Exactly the same as the previous 3. Phone get heated up at the right side near the lock button. Then there is hissgate but super serious like helicopter kind. Even when video down.... even when phone in home screen. When i first on the phone to put in sim card can alr hear... msg come in also have. In calls also have. Worse part is the video..... the sound of the hissgate is even louder than the whitenoise...

Hoping the new one i order can be week 40>

Hmm sorry to hear that. Anyway they offered you a refund because yours within the 14-day period?

Guys im due a replacement set at QCD for hissing and overheating easily.
Thing is my set since i bought have some scratches on bezel and a slight chip on LCD. Will they still replace? I can actually get a full tempered glass protector to cover the chip so they wont know i guess.

1 chip on LCD should be ok.. What if you put on the TG and they remove it to check :s22:

If it is enough to void the warranty, yes. That's pretty normal. Unless it's a fault by Apple like the iPhone 6+ iSight camera replacement programme.

oh man. So should i still go down to QCD ? gosh

I guess you must have dropped it eh? I'd just go ahead and do the replacement due to the fact that the main problem is with hissing and overheating

Hissing and overheating is not on Apple official replacement program. If you want to replace your unit with these issues, make sure your cosmetic defects are not obvious and serious enough to void your warranty.

For your case, depending on how big your chip is, they will definitely remove your TG and check for cosmetic defect before issuing a replacement. If not be prepared to be charged $550 for the replacement.

You can still go down to try your luck though.

Just a heads-up. Booked a appointment yesterday with QCD to do a exchange as my 7plus Matt black 256gb had hissing problem. Arrived today let the technician do a check on my phone and done a 1-1 exchange. No questions asked. The whole process was smooth. Hissing phone was week 38 and got a replacement NN model week 41. The replacement phone work flawlessly well. And it was on iOS 10.0.0.2. Seems like they have ample stock for people to do exchanges. ;)

Mmmm does it sound like a car motor idling? Cos when I did a video recording in a quiet room and during playback, the video background sounds like I am in a car with the motor on and idling.

Got a feeling you don't understand the hissing issues. The sound when you put your ear and listen to the Apple Logo in a quiet room is negligible. The real issue is when you download an app or perform some task, you can clearly hear weird coilwhine/cracking/modem sound even without placing your ear on the logo.

Also, some cases possible to exchange for Brand New set. :)
