My friend’s IP12 Pro Max only 9 months old is at 89%, having dropped 6% over 6 weeks. It also heats up randomly. Highlighted this to Apple and they ran a diagnostic which it passed. So they said battery wear and tear is normal. To them dropping 1% a week is NORMAL. So good luck getting a battery replacement under warranty. You must fail the diagnostic test or drop below 80% battery health.

drop 1% a week, give it 10 weeks and it will drop below 80% 🤭

My wife’s iPhone 12 Pro Max battery health was at 85% for the longest time. It started to overheat from the first week she use and constantly experiencing auto shutdown of device due to overheating when she wasn’t even using the phone. Contacted apple support so many times and they keep saying there’s nothing wrong with her phone after diagnostic. And refuse to replace anything. She gave up trying without banging tables. Now on her new 13pm. Hopefully new owner is able to get a replacement since phone is still under warranty.

Apple will perform a factory reset to monitor if your phone pass the hardware diagnostic. So, don't even think about getting a replacement. :s13:
When I went in for a random connectivity drop issue, they did a diagnostic, found nothing wrong, but changed my phone anyway to completely eliminate it being a hardware issue.

later i found out it was the Singpass app QR scanner, everytime i use it to scan the check in codes, it would just cause the phone to drop connection. Reported it to Apple but not sure if they took action. (TT was not mandatory at that time).

Wow one of the rare ones. Those who are not into providing good services will push to the teleco.

Bang table no use.

for such situation, unless you exhaust every last possibility, I.e. like reset to factory settings and monitor, it might very well be a software problem

Mine was 96%, and in a span of a week, it dropped to 94%, but overheat error came out 3-5 times when I was doing a video tour presentation back in May.

Sickening thing is that when I went to Apple, they did a diagnostic test and found Zero logs of the overheat error, I told them I reformat the phone before and they claim will still be logged despite reformatting the phone. Before I wanted to bang-table as the tech guy was pretty sarcastic, he then did a quick check with his superior and decided to do a replacement nonetheless to iron out any HW problem.

What do you mean by future instances? Can elaborate?
in future for any phones, if you experience any error. capture and keep the evidence. in case somehow any test diagnostic comes back negative, at least you can show proof and say "please explain this error i am getting" then they cannot brush it off.

don't need to bang table.

What he meant is when there are error video down next time so that if you go to service center and they deny you, you can show them the evidence.

But you already sold the phone, so he could have phase it in a better way rather than posting "it doesn't matter" cause it can cause confusion like now.
