Anyway most user unlikely to buy the x without line but on subsidy rate from telco

X tested the threshold of consumer willingness to spend 1888 on a mobile phone, frankly other than diehard fans, normal consumers might find it hard to swallow, but than again Apple target audiences are youngsters who spend their rich parents money or young adults who wish to be seen as trendy.

Oei slap you for quoting me :s13:

Haha u say one what. So I’m throwing back the question. Which phone after 2 weeks of use doesn’t feel like a normal phone?

I will worry if any phone doesn’t feel normal after prolong use.

I so agree. The hype died a few weeks ago for me with the poor battery life on my X. Should have went with a 8 Plus or stuck with my 7 plus.
Personally after two week usage of iPhone x, apart from face Id and all list bezeless design, it just another normal phone

Still okay with the overall experience but I do felt it is overhype

Today marks exactly 1 month from the official launch date of iPhone X (November 3rd). In contrast to forecasts about a severe shortage in supply due to an unparalleled high demand, iPhone X of all models have been widely available online as well as in store across over 70 countries, in just 1 month after it was released. This great-availability for a flagship iPhone version (i.e., excluding those like iPhone 5C/SE/8) is unprecedented; for a comparision, 9 weeks after the release date, the lead time for iPhone 6 Plus is still 3 to 4 weeks.

iPhones were used to be the phone establishing new standards for smartphones (large multi-touch screen, fingerprint sensor, Siri...). However, as of 2017, iPhone X, the best iPhone ever, has become a follower of Android phones out there in term of technology (wireless charging, bezel less screen...). In the past, iPhone used to own its league with the only notable competitor being Samsung. Nowadays, other than flagship Samsung phones, those like LG V30+, Google Pixel 2 XL, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Xiao Mi Mix 2... are also showing their own competitive advantages that an iPhone does not have.

Is iPhone no longer as hot as it was, and the era of iPhone is going to be over soon?

I do agree to some extent on the bolded parts of your message. However, I think it is not a issue of who had the first hardware first. Hardware is nothing without a proper software going along with it. Anyone can slap a fingerprint scanner under the device but only a few can be as useful like the 5S for example and be as inconsistent and troublesome like the S5.

Anyone can have the hardware in 2017. But not everyone can ship a device that work seamlessly with the OS. iPhone used to be that device. This is a discussion of its own.

But to answer your doubts, iPhone X is and will be the best smartphone of the year. It will be the best selling one as well and it will bring in big money for Apple as well. The X will be the gold standard for every other phone company. Apple is in a position now that they can never do wrong. They will give us something and we will like it. Not because Apple is this great innovator it once was, but it is because the company is riding on a reputation they have built many years ago.

We as consumers shouldn't worry about how many units the manufacturer sells. The only thing we should be worried about is the device we get is worth what we paid, if not, hit where it hurts for the company. They only speak one language which is money.

if the design and face ID are the only thing u found different from 6s, strongly advise u switch back. the difference is rather big (oled display?a11 chip?dual cam? wireless charging etc) honestly. your iphone 6s has all these?

if u compare it with iphone 8 i still can understand.

ouch. hard truth hurts:o u can give ur opinions, i can give mine too.

i'm merely pointing out facts that ppl had seem to have either under appreciating the technology or taken for granted as 'normal'.

if it's so normal just like any other phones on the street, then simply just change to the cheaper phones lor;)

if not changing, u probably know deep down why. cause it's not just normal as it is.:)

"Apple can never do wrong"....?

That's a very bold, and absolute statement to make. By any chance, you do realise the latest iOS 11.2 was pushed out early because of a critical bug that causes some iPhones to reboot when they shouldn't, right?

Yes I do. That statement was not meant to be taken literally. I've been very vocal about the state of iOS in terms of overall execution ever since the transition from the classic iOS 6 to iOS 7. From frame rates dropping to certain UX choices, iOS is probably a shadow of itself. Is it an user-experience breaking issue? No but questionable nonetheless.

When I said "Apple can never do wrong", I meant that regardless of all the issues and backward choices (at a consumer level) they made, they are still on top of the tech industry. People like us still go back for their products. The recent debacle like you mentioned further solidifies what I've been saying about iOS in general. Haven't looked at Apple's stock yet but I doubt it took a hit, nor the number of Apple users dramatically reduced by half. They are in a very privilege situation where they are immune to such screw ups.

Like I've posted earlier, Apple is untouchable right now not because Apple is this great innovator it once was, but it is because the company is riding on a reputation they have built many years ago.

Guess you dun use your phone much.

I actually do quite a lot. Most of my top application have their Dark mode settings turned on like Reddit, Twitter, Twitch, Tumblr, Netflix so I take advantage of low power usage from screens with Dark Modes. Communications applications are mostly Whatsapp, Telegram and iMessage. Top games are Hearthstone, Shadowverse.

My settings for Location Settings are mostly on and almost all Applications are set for While Using only except Weather. Facebook, Instagram, DBS, Google, UOB apps set for never. System Services are all turned on except Compass Calibration

Background App refresh set for WiFi only. With only a small subset of stable applications turned on like Apple Applications, Telegram, Uber, Weather and Whatsapp. Anything Google or Facebook are usually turned off here

every launch is a hype. it just depends on whether you get one or not. can you resist the change? Just this time round, design of iphone changed and people want to be early adapter.

if uv been changing every year, why not change this time round? as i always say, if uv been using the same Iphone 6 design 3 years back, its getting stale and boring. the only reason maybe people are holding back is budget. its not cheap. but android flagships are almost 1400 tops. almost there. but os wise is subjective to people..

ios evolves and it sucks thats its not consistent as before. making as all beta testers.

15 million and not forgetting the price tag when people keep saying how they would not buy it before the actual launch.

After using the iPhone X for a period of time. It is only fair that we should compare the X with current or previous mode of iPhone.

Once the comparison is made, the X for example, the bumped in the screen resolution and the omission of Touch ID is consider a good upgrade over the other iPhone.

But if really have to compare with android phone, certain tech used are already dated, but whether android user like it or not, Apple have the capacity and the ability to standardised adoption rate. Period.

Told you all already iphone x isn't worthy

Pay $1888 but get small screen, unlock also need swipe again. Worst of all, that fugly notch which even paying $1888 also cannot cure. Pray hard you don't break the screen else you pay repair fees of $400+. Other damages you pay $800+

What's good? Only the camera. Sorry to make all iPhone X fans angry while reading this. You know truth hurts. I rather get lv bag with that money to last me at least 5years. If you're rich or stupid then it's totally worth it (in your perspective)
