Heads up,

For those wearing glasses, pls set up FaceID without them. I was unable to unlock my phone without glasses when I setup FaceID with glasses on.

Reset FaceID this time without glasses and it unlocks with and without glasses. Not sure if this issue has been mentioned in another thread but yeah :)

Inside Apple's leather case since 4 Nov, still good as new, even at the exposed part on the bottom.

Using the silicon case for the ip8. Will attach to dust and wearing tight jeans like difficult to put in and take out. Dont think leather will right?

Actually, I do like the inner texture of the case. But why cant they cover the btm too sia. :(

I have the silicone case and smart cover for my iPad mini 4 and yes, it's a dust magnet due to its nature. The leather case won't but a nice patina will develop over time.

I suppose Apple didn't cover the bottom for its iPhone cases due to certain adapters not being able to fit if it covers the bottom. For example, the lightning to 30-pin adapter.

Since day one I set up with glasses on and can unlock regardless of whether wearing or not wearing glasses.

Yeah, mine had pretty severe coating coming off my SG iPhone X. Got mine on launch day, 3 days into using it, the charging port area and side bezels had the coating all coming off. Went to the Apple store last week, had a brand new 1-1 replacement with no question asked because mine was pretty bad and they haven’t seen anything like that. Oh, I was using the Apple leather case the moment I got the phone.

My new replacement set has been pretty good, it’s my 5th day on it already. No issues at all.

Anyone with IPhone X Space Grey have their coating on the stainless steel bezel coming off?

How on earth did you use on your first set? Mine also in leather case since 4 Nov and till now in pristine condition.

Perhaps some manufacturing fault?

I usually just put the phone in my pocket without any other items. I’m quite careful with my stuffs. Don’t throw or abuse them but don’t pamper them exceptionally. Just a phone after all. I used the first set and the replacement the same way. Agree with you, the first set was probably a manufacturer defect. No issues at all with the replacement

Good to hear that the replacement set is fine, as it shouldn't just peel like that, and peeled badly in your case. Imagine if you stuck screen protector on it and this happens.
