...Try reset your FaceID and re-take them with your phone holding lower with your face looking slant downwards instead. Maybe it helps.

Actually is it possible to do so? I tried to reset FaceID with my face meeting the phone at angle very akin to the real life angle when my phone is on my desk & I’m seated, & it turns out my face is too small for the FaceID setup process to detect a face.

In the end, still need to hold the phone higher to “record”.

The only 2 complaints now:
- FaceID sometimes works sometimes doesn’t work.
- Not impressed by the battery life.

A common mistake for Face ID is by holding the phone too close to your face. Face ID works best when the device is arm’s length or less from your face (25-50 cm away from your face).

Plus if it fails, use your passcode to unlock it while holding it as if you are scanning your face like you are unlocking with Face ID. This trains the system by letting take another capture of you and adjust its mathematical calculations of the newly captured data vs securely stored data.

Battery life is subjective to user usage. Background app refresh on for all your needed apps? Email Fetch settings? Location Privacy settings?

The TrueDepth camera has a similar range of view as when you take a photo or make a FaceTime call with the front camera. Face ID works best when the device is arm’s length or less from your face (25-50 cm away from your face).

Noted with thanks for the FaceID part.

Usage wise, I use the phone normally and turned off the background app refresh.

Another question, iPhone X does not show number of devices connected under hotspot mode - only the time is highlighted blue to indicate at least one device is connected to hotspot. Any method to check the number?

Seems when wifi on, and when you hotspot to another device, it will cut wifi off.. I remember once I curious why my wifi was off, I try to on it and it prompt turning wifi on will cut off devices that is connected through hotspot..

But i didn't check though how may device was connected when hotspoting... will test out next time when hotspoting.. ;)
