I'm in the opposite situation as you lol. Splurged on the XR and now in a dilemma about whether to keep or return my S4.

Never used the 8+ as I was using the 8 but to be I feel the XR is a step-up from the 8 series. For me it's a gain across the board with better battery life, camera and performance. But since you're coming from the 8+ you might lose the 1080p, bokeh on non-human subjects and some of the Portrait Lighting effects. I never had them on the iPhone 8 so maybe I don't know what I'm missing but if you want bokeh on any objects using the XR, it's somewhat possible with the Halide camera app. I purchased it and so far it works well. The biggest gain for me is the battery life. Cannot show enough appreciation on how good it is on the XR.

Some may say it's a waste of money but some may say it's very worthwhile and satisfying. Well since it's an Apple Watch, I belong to the latter

i was tempted to get gss but then i think of i won't be keeping the watch for long so dun wanna waste 1k on it.

heng applecare+ can refund lol. i bot it for my max, cancelled and refunded...

changed to xs, bought applecare+ again and refunded.
