Don’t forget that the XR has a beastly battery life too. All the more that makes XR a great phone.

After using iPhone Xs for a few weeks, I kinda regret getting this rather than the XR. The only thing that made me go Xs is the dual camera setup.

My sis in law and dad are using the XR and are very very happy with it. Big screen size, good single camera, good battery, super fast processing, fluid animation and very nice bezel.

If only it comes with dual camera setup.

camera is almost similar

processing and fluid animation?? isn’t it the same as XS

XR’s thicker bezel is nicer..?

I think i said wrongly. Should be the "band" around the phone, not the bezel.

The iPhone xr band is Al right? Looks so much better than the steel one.

Yes. I prefer the matte finish on the Alu. The XR is thicker too. It feels nice in the hands. If you need the portrait on non-human subjects, you can try the Halide app.

The only reason that stopped me from getting XR is the absence of dual camera setup. Optical zoom + bokeh are both very important for me.

What I meant is for iPhone XR users, they are not getting an inferior phone with a slower/previous gen processor like previously. Apple used to lower the selling price of previous gen iPhones. With this XR, Apple is selling a slightly cheaper new iPhone with latest processors.

Initially, my dad and sis in law were shocked at the prices of Xs and Xs max but i told them to consider XR. They initially refused to even consider a non-flagship iphone but after trying, they were very impressed and got the XR from Singtel.

Mine is another way ard. I get the XS over the XR. Had enough of lcd, so wanna try out amoled. Camera wise too. But for XR, portrait are in wide angle mode which is better than XS imo. But XS portrait mode just work on every single damn thing which I like. Also XR have thicker bezel. Was comparing for a few days in the end I went for the XS.

Both my friend and I had a rather unusual experience with the XR.
That is the screen is always too bright and I got pretty bad eye strain and headaches during the 2 weeks I was using the XR. You may ask why I did not lower the brightness but I did and it became too dim and can’t see clearly. Turn up it becomes too bright. I used iPhones for years and the XR is the only one that I kept needing to adjust the brightness and still can’t find the right level to read comfortably. Once I changed to Xs max , the headache stopped and the brightness is perfect. Both phones with True Tone on ...

So far only my friend has the same issue ... strange but it happened to both of us and we are now happy with Xs max lol

Kinda sad cos I really like the XR , it’s got a very nice size and weight. Easier to grip as compared to the Max and also easier on the wallet ... I also like the 128gn option as it’s the sweet spot , battery life is superb... too bad leh

According to health reports. LCD causes less eye strain than Amoled

Was using the XR for a month... end up selling it and getting the XS Max. No matter how good the LCD is, watching video is no go. I can see pixels on the video.

Didn’t see any thread on this. Pre order started.

Anyone buying, which Color and why u buy XR over XS?

I thinking of red. Prefer XR mainly due to cost. Not worth to pay $400-500 easily for a Xs

Now m1 got discount iPhone xr $235 with plan... Damn tempted leh
