iPhone XS Esim question

Kinda disappointed with Singtel ... market leader yet lose out to the smallest telco and with no news on when they will make e sim available

XR for the entry level to the X series and XS Max if you like a big screen, like the 8 Plus.

The X does not support eSIM, only the latest XS/XS Max and XR does. I got the XS Max as it’s a X’mas present from my wife though.

Using X/XS Max/Note9 now, 7 Plus as a spare.

Not sure if it’s related though. After changing to esim, I cannot connect to wireless@sgx. Called M1 and they recommended to delete the wireless@sgx and reinstall. Have not tested it yet. M1 said too new to comment haha

If anyone encounters this problem, pls let M1 know so that they are able to know something has to be fixed

I encountered what you encountered. Here’s the fix, and it has nothing got to do with activation of eSim. It’s an intermittent prob with WirelessSGx.

1) go to https://www.imda.gov.sg/community/consumer-education/wireless-sg/support-and-feedback

2) click on iOS 5.x and newer>allow>iPhone

You may wanna save the link in your iPhone safari bookmarks/reading list, for future reference.

And yes, no need to delete wireless@sgx profile. Just follow the instructions abv, the installation will overwrite the existing profile inside our Settings>General>Profile

Normally a change in simcard would usually require to recreate the wireless sg profile. As far as I encounter when swap physical sim.

I guess the profile tie to your simcard.

Quick check fellas, can I ask if the esim can be on and off like a normal dual SIM phone? Is it a hassle to on and off esim without using airplane mode?

The price tag to switch and reactivate is one big deterring factor. Compared to other countries telcos who's offerring free switching for their customers. Why would anyone spend the money to be lock down and then spend money again just for changing to a new phone?
I feel M1 is charging the fees now simply bcos they have the exclusive rights being the first and only one.
