qualified for the free shipping, so it was quite a substantial amount for me
What did you order? I see the leather case just under the amount, unless I order the phone stand as well but seems excessive.

I see, I used the Apple ones then switched to Nomad instead. I like the Nomad one more now.

Before iPhone X I always used those from Spigen, especially Tough Armor. In my early iPhone days from 3GS, it was Griffin.

Now I just use Apple's leather case. Though the leather is a little different from 12 series, I still love it.

The apple leather changed.... :(
It's no longer the same as the iPhone 11's leather.

Good, I think leather adds to the premium feel of the iPhone which should be a premium item.

Means it's no longer that "genuine"?

Think it’s still leather but the treatment or manufacturing might be different, or maybe type of leather is different.

I just smelled my 11 Pro Max’s leather case and 12 Pro Max one, the former still have that leather smell, but the latter one is not that strong. Only the MagSafe leather wallet attached behind smells the same.

my first exposure to apple's leather case was that for 12 series, was told in store it changed and is slightly different. no idea how the predecessors felt, but 12 series' felt... fine to me lol

was 11 outstanding from the other series' leather cases?

Yes I do feel the difference, feels a bit more ‘synthetic’. The patina also forms differently.

Changed for the better or worse?

Comparing the iPhone 11 Saddle Brown to the iPhone 12 Saddle Brown.

The iPhone 12 Saddle Brown didn't darken much.
It was way harder to get a patina after like a full year of use.

Whereas, if you have ever owned a iPhone Saddle Brown Case prior to the 12 series you'll notice that within a month of heavy usage, the leather will naturally darken.
But the 12 series? Only small parts of the case turned dark brown.

I personally feel that Apple has increased the amount of coating used on the iPhone 12 series leather cases.
Not sure if it'll be the same case for the 13 series

My previous iPhone X and XS Max were using Saddle Brown and yes, it darkens after a few months. My 11 Pro Max is using Forest Green while 12 PRo Max is using Baltic Blue. The Baltic Blue since launch day, does darken a bit on the surface but the darker parts are around the edges where you hold them.
