ordered the 2022 dji osmo mobile se already, will review if y’all are keen

Received it, build quality wise is decent but don't expect it to be super high end, probably similar to OM4/5 series. DJI Mimo app is really good and guide you along if you're new to using Gimbal. The magnetic clamp can be a double edged sword depending on how you view it, it is really strong and holds onto your phone nicely, but the repeated taking it off and on could potentially cause a lot of scuff damage onto the magnetic mechanism on the gimbal.

Stability is pretty good, tilt motion is rather limited especially towards the up region. Like the bros mentioned prior, having an extension rod could be very useful and can expand the way you capture a shot. But to me, I think I can work around it as the price between both, $139 for the SE vs $239 for the OM6 is quite significant.

Activetrack 5.0 is sick, the tracking mechanism is really top-notch that even I myself was impressed by it. Can be really useful for times where you needed an "AI Cameraman". Overall, good purchase.

A mobile gimbal is pretty useful it you love videography & prioritize portability. I used to own other brands such as Zhiyun (huge & takes up a lot of space) before I moved to DJI. Got the DJI OM3 briefly and covid kicked in , jialat. OM series is really luggage friendly as compared to other brands.

I travel to Japan frequently during pre-covid times & took many memorable pov vids, such as in Udo-jingu shrine in Miyazaki, Todaiji temple in Nara & my fav place in Tokyo, Asakusa! Also always took time-lapse vids when chilling in a roof café above the Shibuya crossing.

A mobile gimbal is a great tool to have if you love to travel & love videography.

Like you mentioned the extension rod is useful & a good thing to have but, imo it's more for selfie shots, which I rarely take! I am ok without that function as of currently till my current OM3 dies.

For starters the OM SE is a great model to start off!
