Last Thu during IPT (Khatib), the PTI announced that the SAF will no longer cover any injuries sustained during an IPT session.

These were in the previous IPT info pages/FAQs, but looks like it's all been removed. =(

SAF's Provision for Injury Compensation
NSman who volunteer for IPT would be covered/compensated in line with current SAF provisions for any injuries sustained during IPT session. The NSman must be registered for the IPT session prior to the start of the session so that the NSman training commitments can be verified should the NSman makes any claim for compensation.
---
Q24. Would I receive any service pay if I were to take up IPT?
A24. No, as IPT is a voluntarily program you are not entitled for service pay. However NSman are still covered for any injury sustain from the training.

WTF?

yeah...was surprised to hear that...but he even say there is no medic...no cover of any injuries ok lah, but NO MEDIC(I assume also no ambulance on standby) DURING TRAINING? Is that for real? So if someone is injured, we can just leave him to die there...:s8:

Was that for real?

Although I already pass out from my RT (passed IPPT) this week (Thurs), I saw there's medic around on standby. I am talking abt Bedok FCC. :look:

i don't think anybody can conduct any form of training in the SAF without a SO, CO and a standby rover/ambulance.

Those who do their ippt/rt at khatib can normally see a ambulance near the track and a medic at the track when people are running...but when the ipt guys(the last batch of people still doing training) are running that day, there is no sight of an ambulance or medic at the track...

-NSman are to book a Non-ICT IPPT for thier last session before the date printed on your outpro slip
and after your 7th session
*note that this booked IPPT is of different timing. I dun rem wat time though, its earlier than normal training.

-NSman must have 1 day rest in between(i.e Session must be on alternate days)
*applies to everything.

-Max 3 Session/week
*due to the rest day
>> Like that if I do, 3 sessions/wk1, 3 sessions/wk2, 1 seseion/wk3, can I go for IPPT on wk3??:s11::s11::s12:

-NSman will have to clear his RT in his current window,if any

-U can switch any FCC anytime u like, no need tell them. Above rules apply.

-1st day is IPPT.

-the stupid improvement scheme is NOT implemented. At least not yet.. hopefully never.

Hi guys, got a few qns regarding RT... =:p

My RT will be commencing on 21/2 - 16/3 for Phase 1. However, I won't be available for the last 2 sessions which are 14/3 (Sun) and 16/3 (Tues) as I'm going overseas.

1. I understand that we can do advance MUT, but what about the IPPT test that's conducted on the last session? If I miss it means I 'auto-enrol' myself into Phase 2? Or can I take the IPPT test in advance too?

2. Weekend RTs can only make up on weekends? So to cover myself for that Sunday (14/3) session I gonna miss, I just attend any one of the weekend session prior to that? Any limit to how many week(s) in advance?

3. There's a CAT test on the 1st session of RT? If pass means no need to attend the rest of the RT sessions?

Thank you all! :D

I would think that there are different levels of medical coverage for different events / training. I have never seen ambulance for IPPT / IPT or normal training (even if live firing also don't have), usually, it is only a rover with a medic. Only time I see ambulance is for like AHM training (no rover, so probably indent a military ambulance easier), cross country, AHM etc.

Anyway, all these events I see got ambulance one, is far from camp (and in accessible area), so even if live firing, a rover is more appropriate for dirt road travel over an ambulance. For training within camp, I think ambulance from Medical Centre would arrive within reasonable time, so don't have to park the ambulance at IPPT / IPT area.
