Then I believe u have a chance to opt for ipt in lieu of rt after your window is closed. Call ns.sg to double confirm.

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/national-service-knowledge-base-162/enhanced-ns-ippt-system-effect-1-april-2011-faq-3111702.html

But please note that ipt is not voluntary in your case, u need to attend all 10 sessions or meet the ppt given to u to be considered clear. And if u cannot meet your ppt, need to attend another 8 rt sessions in the last 3 months.

Yes, I would also suggest u ask the cso when must your 1st session start after your window is closed. Some people started too late and the system take it that they are defaulters.

Thanks for the advice. I just gave them a call. Yup currently i am under the old system therefore i can opt in for ipt after taking at least one ippt before my window closes. Then after which i can opt in for ipt

You are definitely not alone. Browse a few pages back, I believe myself and few others same as you. Aren't aware how this new system works...
31 august go cmpb right?

I have to report to cmpb on 31 aug at 9am.

Luckily I attempted IPPT before the close of 9months window. If not charge for default IPPT also.

This one-time policy was not emphasized enough and had been hidden in the FAQs.

I hope the charging office could give some leeway.

It's highly unlikely for them to withdraw the charge. The next best thing to is avoid the fine.

To do it, I would suggest u sound humble and say sorry. Tell them u didn't know the rule for the conversion. Are you doing your RT now? If yes, u may want to tell them too. Then your chance of avoiding the fine should be quite high.

Yes i am going to finish my rt soon. I hope they will forego the fine. Hope the officer will be merciful.

Then we are in the same situation. I will finish the 20 RT before the 31 Aug charge comes in, which then sound a little silly le...
I spoke to a ns PTI during RT, he was as much puzzled when I asked him. Apparently many nsman, even ms PTI doesn't know what is happening...

What happens when you cannot make it for a RT session that you booked? I have a RT session booked tonight but I would have to miss it due to last minute work commitments.

Hi guys. I was excused from ippt and physical training for 3 months during april to july due to my knee injury. My ippt window closes in may, I did not attend any ippt session as I'm on status. I was then supposed to go for RT (Since I did not do my IPPT) but I've another 3 months status which will now end late sept. So tentatively I'm both a IPPT and RT defaulter, but in actual fact I'm on status for a total of 6 months. So will I be charged or my ippt will be exempted or? Anyone with the same problem?

to be exempted from ippt, you need to be on status for a continuous period of at least 6 months. if not continuous then total duration must be at least 9 months.

if the status period crossed over to your previous window or the next window, then those days that crossed over are not counted.
