Unit is from US therefore you need a step down transformer.

Thank you for enquiry. Let me know if your friend is still interested.

Very nice faceplate. Looks like they are using the lastest CHM as the 560 too.

CHM = Cleaning Head Module..the green one at the back which contains the brushes and the gears...heard the gears can easily be damaged due to pet's hair that goes inside the gear box.

from what i've read, the red, black and the green CHM still have the gear issue..no improvement yet..that's why some people prefer to modifiy it.
i'm still waiting for my roomba 550..hope won't encounter that CHM issue in the future since i've got no pets..:)

ic, I also do not have pets, but my 535 red CHM has been working fine since day 1. Actually got a spare set, but did not have to replace it yet. Been working for about 2 yrs, so yours shd be fine. :)

How much did you have to pay for 550? Shipping via CGW?

Hello guys,

I have a Roomba 530 (got from woot.com) that goes round and round. Based on the troubleshooting beeps it is the sensor problem. iRobot asked me to send for replacement but shipping there and back will cost more than the item itself.

Anyone had this problem before and how you fixed it?

BTW if iRobot knew the item (110V version) was out of North American the warranty will be VOID.

That is the risk you have to take for getting a recon one, if you reside in US still not so bad as there's a 90 days warranty. If they know it's out of US, warranty voild immediately.

Try cleaning the sensor and check whether the wheels are clean. Since there's no warranty liao might as well dismantle it and do a deep cleaning.

Hmm, so is the green or the red one better?

Supposely the green one should be better lol. But both still have unsealed bearings that allows dirt to get into the gearbox and preventing smooth rotation which can cause overheating.

Looks like you have to change your avatar man. You got no transformer liao!!!

dunno about 530.
but on the discovery, i sometime do haf this problem.
main reason is due to too much dust inside blocking the sensor.
a temp solution for me is juz hit the bumper a few times with a bit force. it will work.

a perm solution is to dismantle it up and clean and clear the dusts inside.
