I think I can live with the older generation...

After all, I am a "virgin" user and it may not work out with my 2 noti doggies...

Would be great if you could point out a few "reliable" online stores in the US that ship to Singapore or via Vpost and accept SG credit cards :)
I had used the 2 below, both will only deliver to USA address, so can send to vpostusa address.

woot.com - select paypal payment, in paypal fill in sg credit card. paypal charges 2.9% for using credit card.

irobot store - use google checkout, in google checkout fill in sg credit card, no extra charges.

Btw, would like to check, if I get a Scooba, wld I still need a roomba? I read somewhere that Scooba also vacuum b4 it mops, is it true?

Scooba can vacuum in small strings, dust, sands and hairs which end up in the vacuum tube and filter.

Those leaves, etc may have a problem as the vacuum hole is very small.

For me, roomba is only use in balcony when there are leaves dropping on the floor.

Other rooms in the flat, scooba can do all the job. :s7:

Pls see reply from mosmos above. In addition, u can also keep a lookout on Amazon, sometimes they do have attractive offers for Roomba. They accept Sg credit cards and u can get them to ship to yr VpostUSA shipping add.

If you dont intend to use Scooba so often, then u might like to get both a Roomba and a Scooba. Roomba (with scheduler) can be set to automatically sweep+vacuum yr place daily while Scooba can be used on alternate or certain days to wash the floor. However, if u r KS or yr place is really dirty, u can run both daily! :D

Yikes! All the stuff in yr Scooba filter... yr Scooba must be fuming :s27:

You should let yr Roomba handle the leaves... the Scooba filter is pretty small, it'll choke up with leaves in no time. :s22:

thanks for the answers .. I guess it's better to try out the roomba first but as it appears that the scoobas are really pricier comparatively ... 380 appears to be v gd .... but at 500usd .. it's really ex ....

I guess I can do with a bit of mopping for now and I oso I don't have as much leaves lying ard ... Only the dust and hair strands on my white flooring ...

Wanna chk if I do have low kerbs about the thickness of a ordinary carpet, will the roomba be able to climb?

If there is only dust and hair around, you might as well get a scooba if yr budget allows, since you still do manual mopping after that. :o :s22:

I do not have carpets, so not sure abt that.

Buy scooba 380, get free red roomba + free shipping (within USA) offer is still available.

Since no 20% discount code now, this offer looks better than 10% discount.

U said it! :s12:

Feel the floor after its been Roomba'd and Scooba'd compared to the normal sweeping + mopping... world of a difference! Its very smooth and the floor shines. The iRobot advert is very true... Scooba washes the floor, a mop spread the crap around. :s31:

Update: MagicClean works well with Scooba. Been using it for a few days. 2 - 3 teaspoons of MagicClean with each full tank of water will do fine. Good alternative to Scooba clorox solution since its more affordable. :)

May I know which flavour of MagicClean are you currently using on your scooba?

Was at NTUC just now and saw not less than 4 types of 2 litre MagicClean and not sure which should I buy.

The blue one, i.e. the original MagicClean 'flavour'. I've not tried the rest but they should work as well. Just prefer the blue one as it seems more concentrated, though may not be as nice smelling.

I just acquire a roomba (530) from the states. What methods do you guys used to make roomba clean our HDB flats effectively? Clean room by room, whole house at once or any other methods?

for sccoba, using 1 virtual wall to block off bedrooms and living rm. Water in tank use finish for 1st run for bedrooms, then 2nd tank for living rms.

kitchen and balcony are 1/2 step lower, so it auto won't go down there.

mosmos, think kelvar was talking about roomba and not scooba....

anyhow, for Roomba, as long as the rooms / places are all level (i.e. no steps separating them), u can basically get Roomba to clean the whole house without segmenting. Just know that it may clean certain areas more than others if u dont mind. Else, u can use virtual walls to segment areas and clean them individually... though this is more tedious. You may also like to keep Roomba out of wet areas.

Thanks for the advice. I'm worried that doing it without segmentation will cause problems since Roomba might not be able to estimate the room size.
