for those with roomba, just wan to ask u all what will happen if there are rags, clothes on the floor?
will the roomba go over it? or will it get stuck? or will it just go around it..?
hi hq, i don't hv rugs on my hse, but if it's nt carpet like stuff that you wanna clean, then it's better for u to lift up, dust everything on the flr b4 getting roomba to run. Clothes on the flr will likely get stuck. For carpets (any cloth like material that are heavy), it will 'climb' over and clean.

I read somewhere abt making your hse roomba friendly, what typically happen for me is I try to clear stuff as I can off the flr b4 running roomba for maximum cleaning effect. I mean I cld leave most things as they are, it will still wk fine.

Using a upright vacuum, u will need to bend up and down, push things(chairs, flr lights, etc) ard, but with roomba, u just need to prep the plc, run it and go do other stuff. A lot of time saved, but more impressive is that I feel that my flr is cleaner than using an upright wo me breaking a sweat!

I am a convert after using it for less than a mth, like many of the bros here. Hope this helps ... :)

Scooba can do vacuuming too right? but not as strong as roomba. Seems like Scooba is a better buy?

so have you guys found out where to buy clorox?

:o yah, scooba can do a bit of vacuuming like hairs, strings and some small leaves.

definately a good buy if you don't like sticky floors or you have been mopping floor everyday.

for clorox, i still have a full small bottle left :s22:. You can just use tap water only if you use scooba everday, it's already clean enough w/o any extra detergent.

I think it varies how clean u want the plc to be ... cos' i run the roomba like 2-3 times a wk to keep the flr clean, but if I m using the scooba, most likely once a wk, likely on a wkend, cos' it's nt exactly fully auto, esp if u hv a big place. u will still need to empty e dirty water n also bring it back for charging after each cycle.
If u hv a Scooba 380, it shd cover larger area but still 400+ usd excluding shipping is too ex for me now ... :)

I think in that sense, Roomba require less maintenance as it's almost fully auto, as in it will go back to it's Home Base once it's completed.

Yes, they may be fortunate to have so many choices. But they are not cheap. 598,000won is actually more than S$950! So I guess it's still the Americans who are the most fortunate. Haha.

Btw, according to Speedpost tracking website, my remanufactured Scooba should reach me today. So exciting.... Haha....

I got the remanufactured Scooba 5800 from Amazon. Because it is remanufactured, its model is supposed to be 5999. My shipping was S$62.50 after 13% UOB discount with vPost.

The frasturating part is that speedpost website tracking said that it has "Acknowledged Item at Speedpost Processing Centre" since 20 Oct. But that was a Saturday, thus I would expect it to be delivered yesterday (Monday). But there was nothing! Only today (Tuesday) it says "With Delivery Courier". I wonder what took them so long and let their items sit in the warehouse. Maybe SingPost has manpower shortage, especially with imports that come over the weekend. Anyway, can't wait anymore! It better be today! Haha.

I guess that $155 also include GST and 570 has a lot of accessories such as remote, 2 lighthouse, etc which made the box a lot bigger than other roomba. :(
