Because not all surge protectors are the same!!! Just becos u see a capacitor inside some of those cheapo surge protectors and u believe that it can protector yr equipment??? :s22:It depends on the design specs, how much surge current it can take and the reaction time!!!!!!!!! Thats why some of those proper surge manufacturers are prepared to stand by their products & offer included insurance coverage!

all the while I thought SG voltage is pretty stable one......you staying in landed property? ever encountered big surge?

wah govacuum.com really good service, now i got 2 racecar robotic vacuum for my nephews. 1 red + 1 black vacuum

The story as below,

I ordered 1 in dec 2007 for my nephew birthday.

2 wks ago it delivered to my hse, but when open the box, battery was missing. I thought i paid $142 (U.P. $150) no battery included.

So i emailed them telling them no battery and whether price include battery, if not where can i buy the battery.

After 1 wk they still have not yet reply, so i went to SLS to buy the battery, cost sgd$92, then also tell them wrong plug, bring home can't fit in.

Then last friday, comgateway said got a parcel from govacuum, I thought they deliver the missing battery.

Then today comgateway delivered another vacuum car!!!!

ok. Thanks to everyone for their help with my problem.
so here's my resolution.
have gone to SLT for my purchases.
bought an universal power supply (16-22v, 3.5a) from kim tech radio traders for $48 after discount . Brand is SUPER and it seems to be manufactured in japan. It allows u to connect ur own cable without soldering.
also bought a newstar brand surge protector for $11 from space electronics. Both these shops r located on the 1st floor. My roomba is happily sucking its juices now. Good note for now.

:o ever consider a scooba? since water can already drown all fleas.

Nah...when I see the Scooba at work, it doesn't pass my expectation. However, the Roomba really runs like a bull and get the job done quickly! I LOVE it but in the end....I SOLD it! Surprise? Honestly, I hate the cleaning and the emptying of the dust. I will get asthematic whenever I have to scrap out the hair trapped around the rollers and the micro lints still landed on the floor despite using a domestic vacuum to do it. Poor me!

Wanna share my experience....I used a universal charger that fits the Roomba original voltage (22V) and after that, my Roomba went crazy. I think the universal charger spoilt the battery circuitry coz the power indicator still shows 'red' even though it's fully-charged. Then I finally found a 'cure' by taking out the battery and let it cool for 5 mins (supposedly to erase the memory) and placed it back again. Now...the Roomba is on this permanent 'mental condition'. It's better to use back original....

becareful of the universal power supply, 3.5A, current rating might be too high.

the scooba 335 is finally delivered to vpost.

but kns...is vpost trying to cheat?

the package shown 14lb = 6.3kg, but they overweight it at 8.3kg?! how could it be?

and then i didn't get the volume of the package, so they overcharged it further to $115.83!!!!!

anyway, UOB's promo code is only 12% nia, 083915D , how come ah? any other promotion code?
