iRobot Scooba experience

I just realised that HSN website. www.hsn.com is barred frm local server. Is that true? cant access since 1-2 weeks ago...somebody verify?

1 question for anyone, the ac adpator says 22.5V, can we just go get a dc adaptor that converts 220V AC voltage to 22.5 DC voltage? instead of using 220 to 110v then to 22.5vDC?

do not try getting a 22.5V DC supply, i don think it's gonna work, some people tried and get ERR-2 on the irobot

1) Is the grey battery with your 380 still capable of sustaining two COMPLETE missions? If not, when did u experience the deterioration?

2) Your 5800 battery when new was capable of 1.5 missions? How long before u experience the deterioration?

It should last 2 mission for 380 or 350.

While 5800 battery last 1.5 mission.

The external charger will not charge the grey battery, it give off a flash on then flash off light. Normal changing is diming on, diming off light.

Charging in scooba does not show any diff signal lights but after 16hrs charge, still will not take a charge.

Last week, it can go for 1 mission + a bit more which i was abled to clean the balcony.

I think sudden deterioration started 2mths ago, nvr really notice it closely. 380 was bought last year end june.

1) Is the floor wet after using the scooba? Mine seems to be quite wet...I thought it is supposed to vacuum the water away? Why still so wet?? Is it a fault?

2) Do you all leave the transformer and the irobot charger on as "advised" in the manual to "store the irobot plug in"

1) scooba is wetter than normal hand mopping. Now weather quite hot, it will dry in a few mins.

2) I use external charger with a timer. Only charge battery for 3.5hrs.

Have u got one that last longer than mosmos's? If u do, were u using it on a daily basis for 2 complete missions? The slow trickle charging can be used for topping up, thats true. However, the trickle charge current apparently is a little aggressive, leading to premature battery failure in the earlier generations. Though they have revised the charging algorithm in the bot itself, nothing has changed for the external charger. Hence, removing the battery from the external charger after 3.5 to 4hrs is about right.

1) Yes, there is a film of water left behind by Scooba during the wet cycle. Once Scooba goes over the area during the dry cycle, there will only be a little wet film left behind. Just leave it for 5 mins or so and it will be dried.

2) If u r using the bot to charge the battery inside, yes leave it connected to switched on power supply.

yes i have been using for 2 missions daily.

yesterday night, i tried to charge the grey battery and it receive charge again.

not sure how long will it last as i turn on the scooba and left for work.

lucky i already have a spare blue battery which i bought last year. The blue battery now only can do 1.5 mission.

Few weeks ago, molecule had help me to order a li-ion battery from gio, collecting from him today.
